John Dowd in Editorial on CNN: Was Brady Ambushed ?

Not sure if any neutral observer can side with goodell at this point. Good stuff in article

In a funny role reversal. Mad Dog Russo got into a huge fight with John Dowd because Dowd convicted Pete Rose of being guilty of gambling with no evidence of Rose ever not giving his best effort in every game. And Russo argues that the fact he bet on baseball doesn't matter because Rose gave his all.

Funny, I don't see Chris Russo making any distinctions on the fact that Brady crushed the Colts' defense with re-inflated footballs.

Russo became dead to me (not that it was any big loss) when he went on a screaming rampage against Brady's father for daring to defend his son. Disgusting display.

I'm just waiting for an Onion article that says Goodell should uphold suspension of Tom Brady because he was caught red handed cheating.

This gets better by the day. Suck it, Goodell you POS. Your lies are exposed to the world. Can't even emphasize how important it was for those appeal transcripts to be made public.

My screen is singed.

"The NFL's investigation of and rulings against Tom Brady, the NFL's finest quarterback, are a travesty, and they've resulted in uncalled-for penalties. And it's all based on a report that lacks basic integrity, fairness and credibility."

When you read the small print, you see that it's an op-ed, but that doesn't detract a bit from the fact that it appears in a highly visible media outlet and is written by a highly credible guy.

The national media is slowly figuring out what really happened to Brady. We need more of these articles from national news outlets.

I never said it wasn't. I was being sarcastic. John Dowd has been crushing Goodell for weeks now.

Damn, my bad. My sarcasm meter was temporarily offline. Well played my friend.

Ben Volin:That name sounds......Dow... Dowd chemicals. Aha! I knew it Googling
right how.

First blog post on site: "The Tide is Turning on Roger Goodell" ....

Is it official now? The tide has really, truly, definitely turned?

That was a great hard hitting piece of writing, and its posted on one of the biggest news outlets in the world.

Unfortunately its an editorial. But Ill take it.

FYI - Wellsreportcontext.com has already been updated to reflect both this editorial and Dowd's Deflategatefacts.com website. Whoever is running that site is updating these things very quickly....

With the credentials he has, Dowd is better qualified for Goodell's job than Roger is.

Wonder if he'll be the next NFL commissioner. I expect they'll fire RG at the meeting 8/11 and then likely appoint Tags as interim commish, to work with the selection committee chaired by Jonathan Kraft. Wouldn't surprise me if they came up with Dowd as their choice.

If nothing else it's a nice fantasy.

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that John Oliver is paying attention to this post FIFA

He'd have a field day with Goodell

In the fantasy where Goodell is canned..... The issue with Dowd is that he's 74 years old. They'd want someone younger and vibrant running the league. I think their ideal candidate would have a legal background (like Tags) so could be solid on this type of stuff and on CBAs, would be a consensus builder like a politician (to get owners behind him), and have CEO vision for expanding the brand. And of course be a lover of football. Tough to find someone who hits all the checkboxes. One guy who does is Mitt Romney - who has past history in dealing with a corrupt institution in the IOC - but he's up there in age himself and probably is too high up in the political landscape so as to be a polarizing public representative of the game. I have no idea of anyone else at this point who would hit all those perfect candidate requirements.

Finally, someone who takes no prisoners:

Given your description, I know someone who would be perfect!

His website is excellent. Hopefully it starts to gather some serious traffic. May the tides move rapidly!
