I think the kind of analysis that was in the AEI report would qualify as "new information," but I think all Brady has to do is give Goodell any reason at all to vacate the suspension, including just showing up and being polite.

As you observe, the critical thing is that Brady has to be completely exonerated and not just have his suspension lifted. I don't think that Kessler, the NFLPA or Brady will be in any mood to "compromise" for the very good reason that they don't have to compromise in the matter of Brady's culpability.

I also have the feeling that we might not have heard the last of this from Kraft, who has been updating his anti-Wells web page almost every day.

Had Kraft appealed without the hammer of a threat to take the League to Court, his Appeal would have dominated the news for weeks before being rejected by Goodell earlier this month. As a result, the press would now be all over Brady for the Patriots' not accepting their punishment and continuing to "whine."

Instead, the little press there has been has been in Brady's favor for the last couple of weeks and the focus is completely on Brady's appeal and the nonsense in the Wells report.

If you think Kraft is going to verbally or otherwise support Brady after the hearing against his best buddy and his 31 partners, you are dreaming. Kraft has drawn a firm line between his friends and partners and his employees which he doesn't cross. To protect Goodell and the shield he has and will throw anybody under the bus. You can still see the treadmarks on BB's back from 2007 and Brady will fare no differently.

I agree but then again nothing with this makes sense. I just think everyone here thinks it is a slam dunk and I bet it isn't. I also said before the report came out that we might be betting wrong, and we all did.

Should we be that confident he plays game one, Im not.

Imagine how much help Kraft could offer Brady in terms of the information he undoubtedly knows about the inner workings of the league and how corrupt it is. Even if he had to do it in an indirect way because of league agreements. You know, if he actually gave a s.hit. But he hasn't even verbally supported Brady one bit aside from his BS comment about how he hopes that the players who deserve to play are able to play.

Perhaps if he is doing the former, he can't do the latter publicly at this stage.

The problems with the Wells report are so glaring that a little bias is not going to tip it the wrong way. The arbitrator would have to be flat-out crooked/ on the take to not see that the more-likely-than-not threshold is not met

I don't agree with him surrendering. But maybe he knows that doing so would end the media circus, which it actually did, somewhat. And he appeased the owners because, well, he's an owner. Maybe "surrendering" allows TB to continue his fight and vindicate himself, without the look of Kraft using his influences to manipulate the outcome. It seems like a lot of steam is building on the "BSgate" front. I don't know, but I've been feeling a lot better about this mess lately. I just might watch football again. We'll see

A website devoted solely to proving NFL dishonesty in this matter could be useful. Just cherrypick the cases where dishonesty is proven, such as the back and forth about whether the Wells Report would cover league activity (Goodell said yes, but that isn't in the report, and there's the Patriots' counsel's claim that they explicitly said it wouldn't), the falsified statistical analysis, the 2 PSI fake leak, etc.

It doesn't have to be TRUE that a question of federal legality being broken is reported, only that it IS reported....from hundreds if not thousands of sources. Even 1% of the Patriot fanbase across the country hitting *send* would be an avalanche of complaints. THAT gets noticed.

If an independent party was hearing the appeal, like Tagliabue in bountygate, I might be more apprehensive. While Tags did overturn some of the NFL's punishment, he left all the team penalties in place and actually came down hard on the coaches. I am sure that Roger though Tags would 100% support his decision and must have been surprised. Hmmm, now that I type that I wonder if Goodell knows his case is so weak he could not trust this to any reasonable person to arbitrate.

How did Kraft "throw BB under the bus" in 2007? If anything, BB had to apologize profusely to Kraft back then for being (in Kraft's words) " a schmuck" for disregarding the written point of emphasis.

BB, as anyone knows, is his OWN man and will leave the very moment he feels his owner is not behind him. Do you believe he is someone who will stick for 8 more years and hug someone he feels threw him under a bus?

I kind of agree. my problem with all this is I dont know who to trust, since we all know the hate for the Pats in general nationally and the overall feeling out there (other than Pats fans) that this is just a continuation of spygate and sets a pattern, I wonder who will be non-biased. Maybe Im not saying it right but all Im trying to convey is that we dont know who Brady is going to get when it goes beyond Rodger and that unknown should worry us a bit. I think most of us thought the Wells report would leave the NFL with nothing to go after our team with, we know that didn't work out. I can tell you that no one here in Colorado believes Brady. I think it is important to note that Rodger picked Tags, he didn't get the result he thought he would so will he be more careful this time, I would bet on it.

My position on this has been consistent since early May.
I have been vocally critical of Kraft for giving up his right to Appeal as my many posts to that effect attest, but have said that I will keep an open mind about his true intent until all the cards have been played.

What is necessary to bring the FBI attention to this case, given that they are pretty active in sports investigations recently? FIFA guys being arrested, the Cardinals hackgate...Ok that those are much more serious because it's about money laundering, bribery and hacking. Anyway deflategate seems to have a lot of dirty and it's a case of public interest. Thousands of kids and their families have their life influenced by the game and the possibility of becoming a player. The dimension of the Superbowl...we are not talking about a private poker club. It's the most popular sport in America that is being managed by corrupt people.

As for how the forum lawyers expect this to play out, I see most of them being unsure because of the CBA issues.
