I am currently in Seattle on business. So many long faces out here in this great American city in the Pacific Northwest. Seahawk fans just do not have a "tradition of excellence" like we have been blessed with since 2001, and so they are nervous, even with their free agency acquisitions (most notably Jimmy Graham). Reminds me that I really do not care who we lost in free agency this year. I am grateful that I am a fan whose posterior used to sit on cold aluminum benches, hoping that gravity would exact enough influence every time I visited the men's room, watching gritty Patriots teams lose many games under thunderously awful ownership. But that has all changed: for the past decade and a half our beloved team has been the class of not only the NFL, but of worldwide sports in general! We have the best owner, the best head coach, the best director of player personnel, the best assistant coaches, and the best quarterback.

Every time my friends lament what has been going on in free agency following the epic victory in Super Bowl XLIX, my response is simply this: "We still have Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, right?" We are blessed, so everyone, just calm down! There is a plan. There is always a plan. Our New England Patriots are both smaaahht and beautiful. We may not win the Super Bowl every year, but we are always in the conversation. ALWAYS. So, my friends, my advice is to march forward in full confidence that the 2015 NFL season will provide many opportunities for TB12 and Company to dominate once again. Being a New England Patriots fan the better part of the past two decades is like being a Yankees fan during the 1920s and 1930s. Watching Thomas Edward Patrick Brady under center or in the gun is like watching Babe Ruth in his prime with his favorite Louisville Slugger. It's all good. Onward Patriots, to 2015 (and beyond!)...

01 ~ Screw the KnickerBockers. The only real Yankees are here in New EngLand. Same As It Ever Was.

02 ~ Having said that: Great Post. I am far more interested in Basking in Incalculable Glory than in wailing like a 2 Year Old with a Diaper full of Hot **** because Mad Bill won't sign everyone in Hell's Creation.

"THIS THREAD SUCKS!!"

When I was 2, I didn't start crying until the **** got cold.

Well said. Until we get change on the order of magnitude of losing both Coach & Brady, I suspect New England will be in the mix every year.

What Coach Belichick has shown year in and year out, is that he has a plan. Yeah, he's willing to gamble here and there, but he has always done his due diligence and feels the rewards outweigh the risks. I trust him to know what he and his staff are doing, because they have an excellent track record in this league.

I'm looking forward to opening day of the Defending Superbowl Champion New England Patriots!

I'd have given you a "Winner" for this alone; I have a thing for text accents! If I were the entrepreneurial sort I'd open a gift shop in Boston and call it Bilbo's Bargains, just to hear the name spoken over and over again.

It's wikkid good, ayuh.

Esp. @ :15 - "Gwedd, stop encouraging him!!!" My cousin and I once had a running Red Hour gag at the expense of small-town NH...

JJP we still have BB and TB but you left out the most important asset of all: Robert Kraft. One of us. A fan who used to sit on those same cold metal bleachers, now fortunate to be steward of the team he loves. The biggest reason for our reversal of fortune. Please don't forget him.

Hey, did you read what I wrote to initiate this thread? "We have the best owner, the best head coach, the best director of player personnel, the best assistant coaches, and the best quarterback."

I'd never leave the big Kraft Macaroni and Cheese out of my analysis!

Kraft has NOTHING to do with macaroni and cheese...NOTHING!

next thing you know you'll be telling us Fnardoval has 100% human DNA...

You are absolutely correct, and I know that Mr. Kraft is a paper and not a cheese man of means. But in my defense, any time I get to mention macaroni and cheese, well, it's worth the literary license, know what I mean? Mmmmm, macaroni and cheese, yummy...

Actually, that kind of riles me up. I make a most delicious mac & cheese. Big pan, baked in the oven, topped with those wikkid good french-fried onion bits like you use in green bean casserole. The wife and son and older daughter love it when I make it. It doesn't last long.

The youngest daughter? She wants the stuff from the box. Facepalm.

Ah well. It is what it is.
