Last year was really the 1st year (I might be wrong) that ESPN really had competition in NFL DRAFT COVERAGE. I thought the NFL channel did a great job but wanted to see what everyone else was going to do.

Here are your choices. Which form of media will you be using and why? The list includes:

ESPN
NFL Channel
Internet
Cell Phone
tomorrow's paper

TV for sure - will start with ESPN and try NFLN in commercials - could exchange those depending on the coverage this year.

Overall, I don't like the personalities on the NFL Network as much as I like the personalities from ESPN that cover the NFL. I'll take Eric Allen over Marshall Faulk and Todd McShay over Kirwan. Not to mention, I won't have access to NFL Network this weekend. Let me know how it turns out.

I hate ESPN but I'll tune in for the draft just because I've been doing so since I've been watching pro football. May try out NFLN a bit because they're faster with the picks and show less of the likes of Stuart Scott and Sean Salisbury, etc.

I like the analysis and work put into the draft ,year round, by Mike Mayock a lot. I also like the scoops that Schecter keeps coming up with (or is fed).

I think I wil set up ,my war room with both ESPN & NFL Channell side by side, with Red Sox on TV #3.

NFL Network coverage with Mayock / Eisen and Davis may indeed surpass ESPN's old standby lineup of Berman (Who I like a lot) and Kiper with the rest of the bunch...Mort, Clayton Len P etc.

What a great weekend..NFL Draft Sox/Yanks......48 hours of serious couch time!!

Sirius radio, without a doubt. I don't really get why people watch the draft when it's a rare opportunity in that radio is better (which means you don't have to be at your tv the whole time). The commercials are shorter on radio and there is much less fluff.

Get outside! Do some gardening! The couch is for the fall!

I'm a traditionalist for the draft - so it's Boomer and Mel Kiper and co. for me. I'll check the NFL network from time to time as I greatly enjoy Pat Kirwin's perspective on things.

who has the best online draft tracker? i know they all fall behind pretty bad but once the Sox come on i'll be watching baseball on TV and following the draft online until the pats come into range. whose is most reliable?

i'll primarily be watching ESPN's coverage when I'm following on TV unless something dictates a change to NFLN. But I'll probably check both out.

I'll watch on ESPN all day. I'll also have my internet up next to me, and am going to check out what the live draft coverage they've been pimping on NFL Mobile looks like on my Treo.

I need help.

I have a commitment with my grandson, that is more important than anything, as much as I would love to view it on Sat. will catch up on sunday.

I'll use a combination of:

ESPN
NFL Network
Sports Radio (The picks are talked about and analyzed more than on TV.)
The Internet

There are other sports on TV on draft day?

back and forth between espn and nfln. cant beat boomer.

Considering I can't get the NFL Network, my choices are down to ESPN and...ESPN.

I acutally like Mel Kiper compared to Todd McShay. They were discussing Brady Quinn and where he was on Kipers big board. McShay has no clue what a big board is. He said he had him 7th not because he was the 7th best player, but thats where he thought he would be drafted.

About 6 hours or so after the draft starts I'll check espn.com to see who the Pats drafted in the 1st round. At that time they probably still won't have gotten to #28.

I don't know how you guys enjoy it, and my fiancee would probably leave me if I wanted to waste the weekend watching the draft.

That's the most important time to watch it (pre-marriage) as you have to set their expectations. If you stop watching it after marriage, she think you are this great guy because she was able to change you. All women want a man they can change.

Mel Kiper works so hard to be wrong most of the time. Worse than being a weatherman. But he is stilll compelling and you can tell he tries hard. He's not just some blow hard talking head. He lives for this stuff.
