FWIW Russ Lande tweeted the Senior Bowl rumor among small group of team execs is we're going to lose our 2nd round pick over this.

JUST A RUMOR.

Can anyone comment on the appeal process available to a team on commissioner decisions?

That's the thing, though. . . . Why would you want this ****storm during the run up to the Super Bowl?

Of course, as someone else pointed out, if it's true that this has been in the works since November, then the NFL can eat s*** about respecting integrity.

That's what I don't get, either about Glazer's report. If the league was tipped off by Baltimore, why not tell the Patriots before the game "We've gotten some reports of irregularities in your game balls. We're going to test them now and then again at halftime. If we find anything unusual, you guys will have some explaining to do." That way, they send a message to the Patriots and they ensure that there are no questions about cheating in the AFCCG. Then, if they choose to, they can float the story that there were some concerns leading up to the game, they addressed them, everything was on the up-and-up, but they'll keep an eye on this sort of thing in the future.

The way they chose to handle it pretty much ensured it would blow up.

That would suck. Although at least no one would be suspended.

if thats true, then the commish might be loosing a 2nd ball
I know the Pats have a bad history but how can they get docked a 2nd round pick when all other teams don't have any punishments at all or just a fine.

Nothing for the Jets for tampering, nothing for the Ravens for lying about Rice, nothing about the Vikings or Panthers warming up balls.

It is just crazy that the pats get railroaded like this.

I find it crazy that the NFL is not acknowledging anything. Nothing on NFL.com. Nothing on the Patriots' or Seahawks websites or Twitters. Nothing on NFL.com. Meanwhile NBC's Sunday Night Football Twitter is making it into a big joke. This really is the Twilight Zone.

They are not denying anything either. If the Mortenson report were incorrect, the NFL would have shot it down by now.

What tampering ?

The NFL will forget it ever happened

Yeah you should not hold your breath. I bet we won't hear a peep about this ever again.

Come on, beat your wife in an elevator, nothing

mess with some pressure on footballs?

OMGKTHXBBQ I WILL CURSE YOU DO DEATH

I'm not ok with losing a second round pick for something that both the Vikings and Titans weren't even punished for.

This of course is assuming belechick wasn't told more than once before to cut the crap.

Honestly with the current witch hunt I would consider this to be good news even though it's excessive.
I'm with you on that. The witch hunt is on big time. People calling us a tainted franchise and loss of a second rounder isn't the worst case scenario, fair or not.

Yeah, like say the score was 28-7. Scoreboard operators accidentally forget to put up extra point. So score is 28-6.

Next Day Front Page News: PATRIOTS ALLEGEDLY PAY SCOREBOARD OFFICIALS, ENSUING EXTRA-POINT-GATE.
You're joking, but remember a couple years ago they tried to say the Pats put like 10 extra seconds on the clock and that caused the Ravens kicker to be not ready which caused him to miss a kick. It was big ESPN news at the time.

And if they want to take away a 2nd rounder, they better have us on film deliberately doing this crap. Really hoping this is not true. That's excessive as all hell.
