Good point from WEEI: Why would the NFL let all of this negative stuff leak out - why would they act so outraged if there wasn't any substance to this and something wasn't done in-game?

Not good.
To be fair, the NFL didn't stop anyone from reporting false nonsense after Spygate...including 4 months post punishment.

I find it interesting as to how the information is being released, Mort does it on Tues nite about 11:00 EST... that is curious, could that be to get info to the morning news feeds??

Makes me wonder if the balls were even inspected, now Florio says they were.. but why release bits of information, Mr. Commish I would be concerned about these leaks.. as it denigrates the integrity of your office..

There is a method to this madness, have not figured it out though... releasing bits of info in intervals, makes me suspicious.

"Integrity of the office."

Good one!

No kidding! It is PATHETIC that details from the investigation now universally accepted as FACT have been leaked by Goodell's office. Nobody even is questioning this! It's like "Mort" is a deputy commissioner. He says the league office is "angry, disappointed, distraught" ... What the hell is this? Why/how is this information coming out?

I want to strangle everyone involved.

It's so hilarious that the refs didn't notice anything handling the footballs in the 1st half yet some colts employee noticed it within a few minutes.

The refs don't notice because it's only a slight difference and they weren't looking for it as they handled the footballs. The Colt's LB didn't notice until he handed the ball off to the Colts equipment manager because he wanted to keep it (intercepting Brady in the AFC champ). He immediately noticed because he's the equipment manager and he handles the footballs on a daily basis.

So from the info that's currently out it seems that all balls passed inspection prior to the game and at some point between kick off and half time 11 balls were deflated to 11 PSI. This isn't the weather people. The weather isn't deflating 11 balls to exactly 11 PSI but all Colts balls pass inspection. It's looking more and more like someone on the Patriots deflated the balls.

Is it cheating? Yeah, technically. Do all teams do this? Probably, but like Spy Gate we don't know for sure. Is it THAT big of a deal? No. Does it effect the outcome of the game? No.

But it does leave another black mark on the Brady/BB Patriots, which kinda sucks.

One minor point: is there anything that says that it was exactly 11 PSI? A tweet doesn't leave a whole lot of room for nuance.

I live in Denver. Social media is unbearable. Never mind the local news covering it. I should be taunting Broncos fans for 2-weeks instead they are ridiculing our franchise. I may need to unplug from the FB for a while. Yes it is us against the world. They really need to win this game now.

Everything I've read has said 11 PSI. Maybe it's a little more or less? Haven't seen anything other than 11.

Are you Surprised? This team has no friends in the media. Stop listening to them.

I hope the Pats put on a dominating performance in the SB to shut everyone up...but this is gonna be a huge distraction leading up to the Super Bowl. Media day next week is going to be a nightmare.

Some people are missing the point about the whole fiasco. The fact is under inflated footballs obviously did not decide the game as even most haters will probably admit , but the problem is that with our history it raises questions.
One would think after Spy gate we would have been scared straight and towed the line to a t. Due to our history we will not get the benefit of doubt.People will think if we are still willing to do these shenanigans then what other illegal stuff have we been doing and gotten away with.

Our standard had to be above anything else anyone else in the league was doing. If proven true how any fan unequivocally state the patriots we not engaged in other illegal stuff is beyond me.

I am absolutely gutted because this will worsen the cloud of doubt about Patriots accomplishments.

I am astounded that many people do not realize that unfortunately in life perception often trumps truth.

I hope BB keeps the team far away from the stadium and the Seahawks facilities. I don't want to hear about filming another teams practice. Don't feed the vultures.

One, he's not my player, and two, what does that mean? Nothing. It literally means nothing. I wish this was a non story. Unfortunately, that is clearly not the case.

It's a "story", but that's all it is...nothing more.

The reality is, it's nothing to be concerned about just like video taping signals was nothing.

I am on to Seattle! And if you guys don't start posting about the game, I'll consider you all ex-Patriots fans.

No, you are assuming that both the Patriots and the Colts balls were filled to the same level of PSI to begin with. They could have been up to 1 psi apart. Additionally (as already discussed) it depends on what temperature the air was that filled the balls. There are two unknows that make this far from a slam dunk. Maybe the Pats have a practice of using warm air to fill balls pre-inspection.

Yes. Time to turn off the radio and TV and BSPN till next weekend. Thanks for letting me vent here on this forum. Plenty of real work to do and skiing in the plans for the weekend.

And this just happens to be the first time they were caught? Come on. They were inspected 5 mins before the game and passed and then at half time they were at 11 PSI. All signs point to the Pats deflating them.
