Mike Reiss is a chicken s**t for posting that on ESPN, especially when this entire story hasn't even been revealed.

Lost all respect for him tonight.

Here's what Reiss wrote:

Prior to this point, the feeling was that if one or two footballs came in under weight, it was going to be hard for the NFL to make a decisive ruling against the Patriots. But 11 of 12 footballs is pretty strong evidence that something was happening from the time officials inspected the footballs two hours and 15 minutes before the game and the actual game itself.

The Patriots, assuming the initial inspection of footballs by referee Walt Anderson and his crew was done correctly and that weather wasn't a factor, should be held accountable.

http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/new-...d/4776756/patriots-should-be-held-accountable

What, specifically, is your problem with that position?

Have you got a link for that? I haven't seen it.

Thanks for the info, BTW.

It's the original Glauber story in Newsday. It contradicts Lynchs report on Boston TV.

So maybe the PSI when checked indoors was 12.5 or 13 and outside in the cold they ended up being 10.5 or 11.

So what? It's physics.

This should be on the refs as they are the ones who verify the balls. They dropped the ball here(pun intended) on this one IMHO.

Kraft would butt heads with Parcells over the dumbest **** and here he is letting the league walk all over him and his franchises reputation.

DO SOME THING

I'm most concerned about the Mortensen report that the NFL is angry, disappointed and distraught. That certainly doesn't sound like they think it was an honest mistake.

This is just stupid. I am embarrassed to even be listening to radio right now because they talk about it non stop.

It amounts to sore loser garbage. This is the kind of stuff Niner fans say about the Hawks right after they lose. Like claiming that crowd noise is pumped in the Clink or that Carroll feeds the entire team PEDs.

No the bottom limit required is 12.5 per the rule book. If the drop is from 12.5 to 11 that is less of an issue. What none of us know is what they measured at pregame and if they were even measured.
I know, the 2 below was probably based on the average of the allowable, 13, which puts it at 11.

Pats will deny knowledge of how it happened but evne then they will be held responsible...

I wonder how common this is? The Pats are under the microscope and given a 24/7 anal exam.

Is it possible this is an issue with more benign teams?

I highly doubt the league can actually prove that he is culpable. I'd have the organization push the blame onto someone else to save face, and keep Bill abroad.

Remind me to never put you in a position to make any decisions for, or about, anything that might have even the slightest impact on me.
