With Brady's numbers,playoff appearances and 3 Super Bowls his legacy is as strong as they come. First ballot hall of famer no doubt.

This is kind of duh but since 04/05 he has been to the Super Bowl twice and the AFC championship game 5 or 6 times and has no rings to show for it. Great accomplishments regardless but a lot of us fans are so spoiled we judge success with rings. This doesn't diminish the fact he is one of the Goats but another ring would be nice to bring his legacy full force. Robbed in 06 and 07 by just some bad calls or lack there of and his legacy may have been untouchable making Montana and the rest an afterthought. But that's the way it went and will endure the discussion until the end of time unless they can pull off 1 or 2 more.

The Super Bowls are his and the Patriots and they earned them. There is no taking them away but a loser argument would be if he started his career in 05 he would be known as the guy that couldn't win the big one. But he didn't so Regardless he did win 3 Super Bowls and he is a Champion cemented in history. 3 Championships in 4 years is pretty amazing and something any fan would be envious of even if it was 10 years ago. We are pretty spoiled but still hungry for another one all the same.

To knock of #1 Slingin' Sammy Baugh from the '40s he has to do a change in the QB position as big as convert the position from another RB into THE passer. If he developed telekinesis, OK. Short of that Slingin' Sammy Baugh is not leaving #1.

#2 is Otto Graham from the '50s. He was such a passer that in one game Paul Brown called for no passes to get rid of the perception that they could only pass. His team killed the old AAFC by making it non-competitive by winning the only 4 championships of that league. When merged with the NFL they thought the Browns were just a little fish in a small pond. He led the Browns to a championship that year. In his 10 year career he was in 10 championships and won 7. He could still possibly get this one with a long career and many more Super Bowl wins*, but it is a tall order. *There were no play offs then, so those losses are "one and done"s.

#3 Bart Starr from the '60s, (who I think might still be alive ) Arguably he's passed him. ARGUABLY. Different eras, different play off formats. Different rules, etc.

Rodgers has the same amount of one and dones as Brady does... Other than the 2010 title run and beating Joe Webb and the Vikings, Packers haven't done much in playoffs. He does have the most talent and potential on becoming the GOAT, but win a couple more rings before we put him in the same sentence as Brady and Montana

Every year we get this with both Brady and Manning. Every playoff game them play will be the defining statement on their legacy. Every game they face each other is the defining statement in the Brady/Manning debate.

The question is if playoff every game is a statement on Brady's legacy, how can any one game be a statement on his legacy.

I think one thing to keep in mind when you look at the multi-championships of older generations is the number of teams. It skews the stats in wins as much as any rule changes. Making a championship in a league with 12 teams is much easier.
