Brady 172 yards/1 TD
Edelman 7/77
Rushing total: 142 yards
Notes: no Gronk, Flacco 2 int's

Jan 2013 (playoffs)
Balt 28 Ne 13
Brady 320/1td (54 pass attempts) and 2 int
Rushing total: 86 yards
Wes 8/117, Aaron 9/83
Notes: No Gronk, Flacco threw for 3 Tds we had 3 TOs in a brutal game for us

Sep 2012
Balt 31 NE 30
Brady 335/1Td
Wes 8/142
Rushing Total: 77 yards
Notes: Flacco tore us up for 382/3. Defense was awful in that game

Jan 2012 (playoffs)
NE 23 Balt 20
Brady 239/2 int
Rushing total: 96 yards
Gronk 5/87, WW 6/53, Aaron 7/63
Notes: Flacco 306/2TD, Defense gave up yards but played good red-zone defense. Brady had an off game, but we were able to move the ball in the middle of the field

January 2013 - Talib had a hamstring injury early in the 1st quarter. He did not play the rest of the game.

Just a couple of things. We know that the Ravens love to manufacture pressure and play a 2 deep safety set which leaves the middle of the field open. I expect mini-tron and Gronk to each have been 7-10 receptions. As well as 5-6 to LAfell on quick outs. Rushing won't be easy especially with Ngata there, but as was mentioned Ray is out, Dumervil is not good against the run. Hopefully Blount/Vereen/Gray can combine for a 100 yards

The AFCCG in 2012 was decided by poor pass defnese with the #1 corner out of the game.
The decisive portion of the game was in the 3rd quarter, when we started up 13-7 then Bmore went 3 straight scoring drives with:
9 passes, 1 run
6 passes, 5 runs
3 passes, 1 run on a scramble

Meanwhile our offense went
3 and out after a holding penalty cancelled a 3rd down conversion (a 4 yard pass. how do you hold on that?)
A drive that went 9,0,2 12 8 and a fumble at about midfield when Ridley was KO'd
10 play drive to the +19 that ended with not conveting 2nd and 4, 3rd and 4, 4th and 4

Result. 13-7 turns to 28-13

It is very difficult to predict what is going to happen in a football game but if I were a betting man I would not bet that our current defense would allow 3 consecutive TD drives on 24 plays, 17 of which are passes by an average passing offense.

somewhere in there is another Welker drop that still occasionally shows up in my mind and cost us at least a fg.

the pats were in FG range when up 13-7 in the 3rd quarter and decided to punt.....it seemed that they had conceded at that moment. up until that point, the defense had given up one drive for a TD, but forced punts on 5 other drives (3,3,4,4,6 plays) ....... punting the ball at that moment basically said 'I have no faith in my kicker or my defense to stop them on a drive from their 40......basically take no chances and play the field position game which blew up in their faces when the next 2 ravens drives were 10 play TD drives.

bad strategy to go along with the poor play selection

The ball was on the 34, which is a 51 yard FG, and the weather was totally a factor. It was a heavy wind game and the kick would have been into the wind.

Two totally different teams even from December of 2013 will take the field this Saturday. Past results are irrelevant.

Having trouble finding any relevance to past games.

Teams are so incredibly different.

Patriots have added Revis, Browner, and a pretty revitalized Chung to the secondary and have seen huge strides from Collins and Hightower at the LB level, Wilfork has returned to the defensive line, we actually have a 3rd DE worth rotating along the line.

Those are 5 new defensive players that didn't play in the playoffs last season or in the most recent matchup vs Baltimore.

Gronkowski, LaFell, and a revamped and seemingly far superior offensive line headline the additions to the offensive side of the ball.

LaFell alone has basically outproduced the 3 rookies from last season combined, who were "major players" alongside Edelman's first true season as a pure WR tag teaming with the immortal Amendola. Gronkowski has basically outproduced the 3 rookies AND Amendola combined.

LaFell and Gronk are huge additions to the playoffs this year.

I find it laughable to look at past matchups when our team alone has 7 new prominent players, 5 of which (not counting Chung or Ayers due to playing time restraints) can be considered major impact players for our team.

And none of this is counting the changes Baltimore has made for worse or for better.

The only reason to even consider past matchups in this rivalry is that the Ravens have won in Foxboro, if that even matters, which I don't believe it does. They've never beaten THIS team anywhere, because they've never played THIS team.

It was after that drop that I knew he was done here. It was a 3rd & 7 in the 3rd with 10:17 to go with NE still up 13-7 at BAL's 34. They, for some reason, punted after that and BAL never looked back. Video of the drop is below:

Thank you for your fine effort, but the fact remains that NONE of these games have much if any .any relevance on Saturday's game. About the only relevance that is real is the fact that the 2 coaching staffs have played against each other enough to be familiar enough to know most of their long term tendencies and core players. That's about it.

Other than that they will both present 2 game plans that will include stuff they've never or rarely shown, and force the other team to show how well they can adjust....or not..

Yep that is it.

I was still believing until Ridley got knocked out by Pollard. At that point I saw the writing on the wall.

I still believed they could win until Pollard showed up again, too. I think this Saturday will be much different. Can't wait to watch Revis out there in the playoffs for NE.

My wife and I knew at halftime. I'm actually surprised to see that NE was still reasonably close prior to Rid's fumble because I recall the game being long decided by that point.

Another relevant fix: Notes: Flacco tore us up for 382/3. Officiating was awful in that game

Eh, the defense was pretty awful too. That was the game where it became apparent that McCourty was not cut out to be a full time starter at CB and needed to be moved to S. But yes, the officiating was hot garbage and I still maintain that FG was no good.

it wasn't that heavy of a wind........gusts to 20.....it wasn't the first time they've opted to punt from that area.not that it mattered because for the next 10 minutes, their offense became unstoppable

I thought Welker also dropped like a 40-50 yd pass earlier in the game as well.
