So, would you take Pacman in 2008?

While I sympathize with Pacman's unfortunate upbringing and how it has affected his life, the guy is just too damn STUPID to be a Patriot, plain and simple. I mean, if you ever have seen him interviewed, he is one dense human being.

There's a story running on SI right now that says the Titans haven't yet decided whether or not they will have Pacman Jones back following his 12-month suspension irrespective of whether he fulfils all the necessary criteria and the league lets him back.
Put me in a minority here, but I think you will see a new Pacman. I'm guessing (hoping) that he turns his life around, not only stays out of trouble, but leads an examplary life, fully involving his free time with public service.

I hope he does this and applies for return to the NFL after week 10, and I hope it is approved.

Then he can play his six games, get credit for a year of NFL play, and have his life on track.

At least, that is what I hope happens.

Perhaps a career in Major League Baseball would be more befitting?

Perhaps in time that path will lead back to football, for now, he's got bigger troubles.

Right on. Anyone who showers dancers with 82k and expects to get it back because it was just "for effect" needs to worry about other things than playing CB.

And about that interview: what a fluff piece put on by who else, the NFL network. I am sure they prepped him for those questions verbatim and edited out anything he said that was stupid. I have a hard time believing that entire segment was bogus propaganda set forward by the league though it network.

I would take him, but i would bet the Pats wouldn't.

So, supposing Tennessee decides to cut its losses right now and cast Pacman adrift, and supposing (by some miracle) he manages to stay out of trouble for 12 months..

And supposing (closer to reality here, I suspect) that Asante plays out his season under the franchise tag and next March walks off under a rain cloud of free agency dollars and the Pats are left looking for another CB...

Do you believe in giving a guy a second chance? Do you believe a leopard can change its spots?

Would you take a chance and sign Pacman Jones for the Patriots?

NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally I think that if Pacman can resolve his outstanding disputes with the forces of law and order, and can stay clean under the tough regime that Roger Goodell and the NFL has laid out for him - and these are all very big IFs, I know - then he will have achieved something very laudable and demonstrated a willingness to get his life back on track and a determination to resume his career.

And if he does those things I think he'll have earned a second chance in the NFL. It seems highly unlikely that will be with the Patriots, and that sits fine with me, but someone out there will be willing to take a chance, and I won't have a problem with that.

The majority of Pats fans agree, so now we can just leave it at that.

Think about it this way. What team would be better for Pacman to come to if he really wanted to change his ways? Right the Pats. I don't think any bad behavior would be tolerated in that lockerroom. Not that I think it would happen, but it is another way to look at it.
