Patriots vs Broncos Week

I understood that Peyton has never won a game at Foxboro. Am I wrong?

Peyton's Colts beat the Patriots in Foxboro in 2005 and 2006. I think Brady threw 4 picks in that last one....

Yes.

11/7/2005
11/5/2006
And do yourself a favor, @AzPatsFan, and don't watch highlights of either. 2005 the defense couldn't get off the field as they lost 40-21 and in 2006, Brady tossed 4 picks as they lost 27-20.

NE is a 3.5 point underdog, at home that means we are really a 6.5 pt underdog.

I have no clue why, at Gillette Brady has 12 TDs and 1 INT vs DEN. That one INT was in the playoffs 3 years ago when he threw 6 TDs on them. DEN has won here twice in this era, 2005 and 2002.

Good I like it when the Pats are the underdogs, give them a little more motivation. Give Brady time in the pocket and I like the Pats chances, if not, it could be KC MNF ugly

If our D can't stop the run...Hillman will have himself a great game..over 100 if we don't change some things. If he has over 100 i think the pats lose...becasue that will mean the PA will be deadly for them

Not at all. If anything, the coaches will tell the players to play the pass first on every snap, barring short-yardage situations. Denver will almost certainly run for 150+ in this game, partially because they are good and partially because NE will let them. But it will have no impact whatsoever on Denver's PA success.

I keep reading people saying keep hill under 100 yards and we win....I view it the exact opposite. I WANT hill to have 150 yards cuz that means Payton throws the ball maybe 20 times and the pats win. Look at last years game in Foxboro and take away the fumbles and early turnovers that made it a huge comeback. That game was a blow out despite Moreno getting 200 yards. My game plan if I am the pats is to play nickel 90% of the time and drop coverage daring Payton to throw. He remembers that loss last year and seems to me ****y enough to say I have to throw I have to win this cuz we lost to that game plan last year. If he does that I believe the pats have the secondary to get the crucial big game game ending pick 6 Payton is famous for.

Never did I say anything close to that. So your telling me that the Pats are the better team, right now. I know they play the game for a reason . But thanks for at least humoring me in reading the article.

Hoping NE will win (or even expecting them to) has nothing at all with whether NE is the better team right now. Even bad teams win a non-trivial amount of the time, and NE is far from a bad team.

I don't know Denver's roster well enough to break down the individual matchups, but the last four weeks the two teams have been very similar.

Denver went 4-0, beating teams with a combined 16-14 record by a cumulative 149-75 margin. NE went 4-0, beating teams with a combined 13-17-1 record by a cumulative 157-87 margin. Both teams had their biggest struggle against the same foe, the Jets. Oddly enough, NY was the worst team either faced. Both teams also played three home games in this time.

A cursory glance would indicate that we are dealing with similar teams, though Denver has been great since week one and NE was terrible in September. How much you weigh that could impact your assessment greatly. I personally disregard NE's first four games entirely, but you may not.

There are other factors as well. Denver has only played two road games all year, losing in Seattle and eeking past the Jets. Small sample, but it could mean Denver isn't quite the same on the road.

Denver also got to face some teams at unusually low points. Arizona was down to their 3rd string QB and lost their best defensive player early on. SF was down three all-pro caliber defensive players. SD was missing both starting corners and was playing a few men short when you consider how one sided the officiating was. Only Chicago was in similar disarray when NE faced them. Cincy was actually riding high, the consensus best team in the league and coming off a bye when NE obliterated them.

I don't begrudge anyone who points to Denver's elite pass rush and dominant run defense... or their frighteningly deep arsenal of weapons. Denver beating NE - even blowing them out - wouldn't surprise me in the least. But if the last month has any meaning at all, these two teams are more evenly matched than public opinion would lead you to believe.

sims and nantz are calling the game so I'll be watching on mute.

A blowout? We won by a FG in OT.

Hope BB gets in the refs ears about Broncos WR pick plays. From all the ones that were called on Lafell this year (poor Amendola), they better not change their standards for the Broncos.

Glad i will be at the game freezing my ass off instead...rather eat glass with no shirt on sunday then listen to them during a broncos game.

Ready for this game, will see what gameplan bb has for manning. Simple or complex

I'd really like to know what ref crew we get. Does anyone know when they usually announce this?

How raucous would our crowd have to be to have the refs give us some home cooking? I think we finally got one of those type of calls last week (when there were plenty of other illegal plays not called in other games).

Talib on gronk won't work. You can only double or triple gronk and hope of stopping him. But then it leaves someone wide open. It's almost like pick your poison.
Brady throws into a double covered gronk lot more than a wide open WR. Most of the time it works too. Even in the chicago game, lot of brady's passes were in decent coverage.

Just like what Tom would do to moss on occasion. Gronk is just a beast, could argue the best non QB offensive skill player in the whole league.

And to think Broncos fans believe that J Thomas is better

Too much fantasy football and not enough real football.
It's idiotic honestly.. Gronk is the best non QB player in the league now that Calvin is injured makes such a huge difference for our team
