As it stands, it's a no-brainer surefire winner. As I thought it would be when we made the deal. You may not like Bill's philosophy of selling early instead of late, but it's one he is consistent with and you really can't argue too much with the results. Wright looks like a player, and Mankins hasn't done anything to resolve the dreadful OL in Tampa Bay. Not that it's all on him for that, but...okay I admit it, I'm pissed because it convinced me to draft Doug Martin on my fantasy team. Thanks a lot, Logan.

Given the particulars (especially considering the OL's struggle in at least 3 games) there is certainly an argument to be made the trade hasn't been, at least as of yet, a net positive for the Patriots. With that said, "terrible" is a 'terribly' over dramatic adjective to use. Given this particular OL line up has played satisfactory 2 out of 2 as well as Wright having made an impact in multiple spots, characterizing the trade as starkly dreadful is just not accurate.

Right now it looks good, but have to wait a bit for final judgement...

i like the trade. I think the OL woes were more about the retirement of Dante than the the loss of Mankins….IMHO. Wright is coming around and seems to be getting the schemes…..Should be an interesting rest of season.

On the surface it looks like a good trade. Wright is becoming a player, that cap room most likely keeps revis and Dmac in town and the OL is holding up so I'd say more of a win than a loss.

Overall, it looks like the Pats won the trade. Unfortunately, they did suffer early, but this o-line is better than last year's o-line. We need to see how Wright progresses over the rest of the season because he could turn it into a huge win.

The reviews on Mankins down in Tampa has not been all that great. The Bucs can't run the ball with a Pro Bowl RB (29th in YPG and 17th in YPA). He gave up a crucial safety in one game. He really looks like another guy who the Pats cut bait with at the right time. Obviously, the Bucs' problems aren't all on him, but he certainly isn't helping.

One thing we can all probably agree on is this was a big loss for the Bucs. They gave up a good young TE and a 4th round pick for a highly paid, older guard on the decline in a season where their season is over at the midpoint of the season. They will likely have to cut Mankins in the offseason. They were not Logan Mankins away from being a good team and the gave away future value to lose slightly less this year.

You have to understand that Deus makes definitive decisions at the time of these types of moves and will never admit he is wrong. Tim Wright could become a perennial All Pro and go to the HOF and that 4th round pick also becomes a HOFer while Mankins retires after the season and he might change his tune to "the Pats got fleeced, but not all that bad".

That's how I look at it. We are stronger at 2 positions (OL and TE) then we were last year.
