I can play nice if I'm not insulted time and time again. Try it.

If someone wants to insult you that's their issue, you're just reducing yourself to their level. First post you come off as a sensible rival fan, since that you're resembling more of a 'troll'.

Yeah, I got heated. I can be an asshat. I'm not proud of my temper, it gets me in trouble in more then online message boards.

So:

Why do the Pats think Wes Welker was worth a second round pick? I mean, we have David Kircus, who's young, fast, a returner, and white, but we didn't pay a second round pick for him. I addmittedly haven't seen him play, but the fact that Miami gladly traded with a division rival makes me think that NE got shafted in this deal.

what are you talking about ?wes welker was a restricted free agent .the pats had him signed then both teams agreed to a trade instead .the pats saved a boat load of money in the cap by doing so.,miami was going to lose him unless they wanted to match the patriots offer something they couldn't do because of there cap situation .so miami didn't gladly trade anybody you goof.the next time you want to speak about a player at least watch him for a game or two .

I'm starting to see a pattern here:

Good player is available=THE BEST PLAYER TO SIGN!!!!
Until:
Pats sign good player=THE MOST OVER-RATED OVER-PRICED SIGNING IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL!!!!!

No, but generally excellent players go for second round picks. Wes Welker wsn't even a starting WR for Miami, correct? I'm not trying to attack y'all, I'm genuinely curious. Why was he worth that much?

how do you know what kind of player he is ?you admitted you've never seen him play .

He's not a starting player for a 6-10 team.That's a fair indicator.
gee i wonder why bb and pioli made the move ?you know more about welker than they do im sure .wasnt welker there leading reciever last year ?nah thats meaningless what was i thinking ?

Didn't the 6-10 Texans send some WR to the Pro bowl?
I mean, if Andre was really THAT good, shouldn't they have made play-offs or something?

Didn't the 7-9 49ners send some running back? Shouldn't they have gone?

Didn't the Rams send some fairly good QB? Why weren't they in?

Sometimes, no matter how good you preform, you can't fix the fact that the rest of your team sucks.

That doesn't change the fact that he's not an elite player and you can get elite players in the second round (and the seventh for that matter)...

In recent years:
2nd:
Chad Johnson
Demeco Ryans
Anquan Boldin
Lofa Tatupu

7th:
Shane Olivea
Marques Colston
Tom Nalen

All better than Wes Welker...

But he wasn't starting, that's the argument I was making. I'm not attacking you, you are all getting defensive. I really want to know. please, can someone tell me why Wes Welker is awesome?

have you ever seen welker play ?

No. But the fact that he isn't a starter tells me what I need to know.

Please answer my question.
your response tells me all i need to know about you .anybody who has a opinion on player they have never seen play is a idiot .that's like having a opinion on a movie you have never seen .

Wes Welker is a slot receiver, i.e. the #3 WR. Most slot receivers aren't technically starters since a starting lineup consists of the 1 & 2 receivers.

Of course not seeing him play and all, you wouldn't know that

Hmmm. That's not true. I haven't seen That Ninja Turtles movie and I know it will suck. And please don't call me an idiot, you don't know that a space comes before the start of a sentence, not after the end.

Is a slot reciever worth a second and seventh round pick? I don't think so, but, I guess, have fun with him. We got an elite #1 for just a second a year ago. We love him. But, unfortunately, we don't know if he's ok, with Darrent Williams dying in his lap and all...

I do think Stallworth was an excellent move, even if he can only plasy half or 2/3 of a season. He's a deep threat and a legit #1. Brady should enjoy him. of the games I saw last year (Denver, Indy, JetsX2, Buffalo, Playoffs), he looked like a floundering fish without any water. Him and his TEs just looked exasperated with the wrs. Stallworth should be a good aquisition to remedy this. I'm just not too sure about the rest though. I liked the Kelly Washington thing at first, but now I'm not so sure.

Uh, yes, I'm cranky, My Avalanche were knocked out of the playoffs by Peter Forsberg. That sucked. Badly.

Yeah it looks nice when you cherry pick good players to list but for every one you mentioned there are 40 busts and nobodies taken in the same rounds.

your a idiot .why do you think anybody here cares what you think about the patriots lol?

Because this thread has six pages.

I'm curious about Welker, and no one's telling me anything....

There's also a lot of solid starters and role players that may be recognized my me but not by you or vice versa because of divisions...
Last year we took Tony Scheffler, and he's not a bust. I think he'll be a star vy the end of next year. He had 4 TDs in December. Pretty good for a TE. Our '05 second rounder is dead, but he wasn't a bust either.

You took Chad Jackson, who looks to be a bust. But we'll see. That injury doesn't help.
