I think Peyton is the greatest regular season QB ever, but his legacy will be the playoffs. He will be remembered as a guy who choked a lot in the playoffs.
I hear this a lot from talking heads and others about Manning.
There are 12 QB in the history of the NFL with more than 100 career wins:
Farve
Manning
Brady
Elway
Marino
Tarkenton
Unitas
Montana
Brees
Bradshaw
Moon
Kelly
Soon to be joined by Roethlisberger (99 currently)
Of this illustrious group only 2 have a winning % over 70% in the regular season,
Montana and Brady, Manning may join this group this year he currently has a .699
winning percentage.
However Brady is head and shoulders in terms of his record as a regular season QB.
His winning % is .773 Compared to Montana at .713
How does this translate to wins and losses,
Manning 172-74
Brady 153-45
Montana 117-47
A few things to note Brady is the ONLY QB in the history of the NFL to have 100 more wins than losses, Manning may join this exclusive club.
Compared to the QB with the next highest winning % Montana, Brady has 36 more wins will still having 2 FEWER LOSSES! Mind boggling. Compared to Manning Brady while having 19 fewer wins has 29 fewer losses.
It is to me staggering that Brady's record is that much better than the next best Reg season QB's in history. It may be that Manning will be the 2nd best reg season QB but he won't approach Brady's record as a winner in the reg season.
