Come on, now. We've seen it in NFL games, and we've seen it in both directions. We've seen entire teams stop too early, only to have the ball picked up and run with. We've also seen guys who clearly didn't hear the whistle who then drill someone and pick up the 15.

Revis didn't have to hit Maclin. He could have stayed stride for stride with him until the receiver let up as well.

I doubt a QB who has thrown four passes in four years and has yet to even show prominent value in preseason, AND just spent his entire fourth year on IR, would generate a large enough contract to significantly impact the draft pick compensation.

As Kontra clearly wrote, the option for Revis in this case was to simply still keep covering your man, not to drill someone who didn't have the ball.

Whats really shocking is that many of the Eagles reporters are writing about how much better their defense did against the Patriots this year. However Brady completed 72% of his passes and Garappolo and Mallett had even better percentages. I can only imagine how bad they were last year.
