Maybe I'm just being ignorant here but, how exactly does this spread awareness lol? Do people even know what ALS is? Don't really get these trends people do like woman and the no-make up selfies to spread cancer awareness. Seems like there's a missing link somewhere.

Besides dumping the ice water, they are supposed to donate at least $10 to the ALS foundation.

Didn't really mean to ditract from the original message. ALS awareness. From what I understand, once diagnosed it's a death sentence. I'm on board with striving for a cure. I'm in my early 40's and I could deal with death staring me in the face. Little kids get afflicted with this. I've got a 7 year old. Healthy and happy. Couldn't even begin to imagine. The greater Boston area has the best Hospital/Surgical/Rehab system in the WORLD! Period. If anyone can find a cure or reliable treatment to extend life, it's us.

If our pro athletes are willing to get involved, I say we support them for a good cause.

"Lou Gherigs" took the poor guy out at what, 41? Fight back, fight hard. If there's a cure to be found, it's coming from NE. Let's save kids NE. We have a duty and obligation. Boston and surrounding is the medical capital of the planet. They all look to us. Rally. These kids need us.
