Eve Of The Draft Rumours

No surprise here, but schefter and rapaport are reporting the patriots are one of the handful of teams looking to move down.
I would be shocked if the Patriots didn't put out feelers for both trade ups and trade downs. How else could they gauge the market?. It is called due diligence. Sure, a trade down is more likely, but BB isn't one to leave stones unturned.

I am hearing that some people think the Texans are giving up the #33 for Ryan Mallett.

*To be completely transparent about this I am hearing it from the voices in my head, but what the hell, it's a rumors thread so it should fly just fine.

Adam Schefter just reported that the Texans have decided not to trade their first pick in the draft.

Going to be a good d-line with Clowney and Watt.

Going to be a good OL with Duane Brown and Greg Robinson.

C'mon, let's at least try and keep it interesting.

That's hilarious. If they were willing to trade up until now, they're still willing to trade. Pretty transparent attempt to gain leverage.

If they prefer Mack, they should trade with Jax, even if it's only for a 3rd rounder. It's a free pick for taking the player you were planning all along. The only risk is someone then trading into St Louis's spot and taking Mack.

How much does it cost to trade up from the #1 pick in the draft to the #0 pick in the draft? :D

What if Jax is duping them and Jax prefers Mack as well? The plot thickens!

Alternately, if they're settled on a guy now, they were settled on him yesterday. Pretty transparent attempt to manufacture drama and gain publicity.

I would not think that HOU should be willing to risk losing Mack for a 3rd.

Tom Curran reporting that Mallett to the Texans may be close.

No idea what picks but you imagine it might include 33.

Awesome news. This gives is flexibility to trade down. I didn't want belichick to trade down 32 slots like last year and make us wait all those agonizing hours for, at the time, seemed like a underwhelming pick in collins. Collins may be good, but we passed on Kiko Alonzo.

Honestly it's the best thing they (Texans) can do.

Mallett is better or at least in the same level of all these QB's, with veteran NFL experience and learning behind the GOAT. IT'S WORTH THE SHOT. I would think that If I were a GM.

Ok they will have to deal with a new contract next season but it's not like he is going to ask for a big pay day, look Edelman this year, no one is going to throw big money at a player with only 1 year of good playing, it doesn't prove ****. Unless he wins 16 games they will be able to manage a friendly deal like 2 years 10 Mi like McCown, and then evaluate better if he's franchise or not.

Win-Win.

DO IT BILLY FOOTBALL.

Typical pre draft rumours swirling as Curran now saying that 2nd source says nothing doing on Mallett (as of now). La Canfora says the same......but things can change. Sounds like there is at least some interest there. If you are the Texans it makes sense to at least wait to see how the board plays out in the late 20s.

I think every Pat fan would be thrilled if we could pull this trade off, heck, this girl would even take a 4th for him. lol

I'll believe what that phony says when it happens and not a second before

Hey guys, Since this is my first draft on this site, I was just wondering if this is a spoiler free site or do some people post spoilers on here? Nothing worse than the pick being up waiting to hear it and someone spoils it first. ugh.

If you find out a pick on this forum before you find it out on some other news source, you're doing it wrong. Spoil away!

If they have him head and shoulders above everyone else, sure. If they decide that they're OK with a Bortles, Watkins, or Robinson + a pick as a worst-case scenario, then they should take the gamble.
If HOU wants Mack they have to take him #1
