People that think Snoop Dogg has, or maybe even ever had, any gang affiliation at all are prey to the excellent marketing that music agencies do for their artists. I remember reading somewhere that Snoop Dogg grew up in an upper-middle class family in Lancaster, California (not even in Los Angeles). He's involved in all sorts of community activities as well as coaching his kids sports leagues. There's been a few occasions on camera where he has slipped and accidentally revealed how intelligent he is.

No, snoop is from a single parent home in Long Beach he went to high school there as well(same school as D-Jax). Not sure how involved he was in the gang but he def had a record prior to rap stardom .

Snoop Dogg was born and raised in Long Beach - he actually went to the same high school that DeSean Jackson went to.

Snoop playing Huggy Bear in the S&H movie a few (maybe several) years back was hilarious. My favorite part was one of Huggy Bear's bodyguards was a certified genius-thug type. funny stuff.
