OT: Anybody here ever play Strat-O-Matic football?

The football version I didn't think was as good....I remember it was too easy to pick up third and shorts all the time by running the ball twice . I don't think football translates as well into statistics and probabilities as baseball.
I felt the opposite, but then I played the football game more than the baseball game. The advanced football version was pretty realistic, I thought. I remember with the baseball game, it seemed unrealistically easy to sacrifice runners in from third base.

My brothers and I played Strat football and baseball (even tried 1 year of hockey and bball) for about 8 years. We had numerous battles, including fistfights over it.

I loved Stratomatic and am pleased to announce the Pats won my
personal Super Bowl circa '78 (I may have combined a couple of year's Pats teams - I don't recall)

I remember once at the end of a football game I missed what would've been a winning (short) field goal. I was so mad I threw a chair (in my mother's dining room, no less).

The stack method was great strategy ... aligning a player to later bump the ball carrier in a different direction was the ultimate in Belichickism - dual roles players ... all blockers.

I too started with baseball and went to football. Never played the football game with my brother, but we did a seven game series between the 1980 Phillies (WS winners) and the 1980 Orioles (won 100 games but finished second to the Yanks).

He was Philly... went up 3-0 on me... and then I went all 2004 on him. He was so angry. LOL... and you could tell it was gonna happen towards the end of game 5. Just seemed inevitable. I think that's what pissed him off so much... he knew what was coming, and was powerless to stop it.
