If we have our entire starting OL intact going into the draft, where do you focus other than TE? I'm thinking maybe even go TEx2, DT, OC, DE in no particular order.
I watched a lot of tape on all the TEs this morning. I am leery right now of a huge bust coming in the TE class. All players have huge warts. I would not spend a 1st on any of them except Ebron.
This is what I saw:
1. Ebron, a very slight player, but explosive and a matchup nightmare.
2. Amaro, passes the eye test, has size unlike Ebron, and also explosiveness. Scares the heck out of me because he struggled tracking and adjusting to long passes in the combine. Was discombobulated. I see the guy as a high bust factor.
3. Niklas, not especially explosive or athletic, and looked to have stone hands several times I saw him. Good blocker.
4. Austin Seferian Jenkins, a huge guy who can block out the sun. Has great hands. People say he's not speedy and can't create separation, but I see a guy with excellent burst. He just had surgery for a stress fracture. Problems: he's a bit of a dog. He rarely plays to the whistle, is questionable on blocks, and he gives u on his routes if he's resisted at all. His biggest asset, creating space over the middle, might be negated if he's resisted.
Amaro and ASJ in the second round if they're there, Ebron in the first if he drops, and Niklas not before the 4th round.
I like CB, S, WR, as my 1st round focus, with DT Hageman if he's there.
There are so many good CBs available, Joyner, Gilbert, Roby, Fuller, D Dennard, and more. Both safeties Pryor and Dix could be good at #29, but there are more safeties available later too in Dixon and Buchanan and Exum.
I'm tempted to wait for a WR like Moncrief or Bryant in the 3rd round, but if a top WR drops to you earlier, you have to take him.
I'm OK with a TE in the second round, not the first unless its Ebron.
