Next Stop, the Underwear Olympics

Tyler Starr = Rob Ninkovich (and not just because he's white).

Starr - 6'4", 250
Nink - 6'3", 260

40

Starr - 4.95
Nink - 4.91

10 yd

Starr - 1.65
Nink - 1.66

Bench

Starr - 24
Nink - 23

Vert

Starr - 32
Nink - 34.5

Broad

Starr - 9.6
Nink - 9.8

Cone

Starr - 6.64
Nink - 6.96

SS

Starr - 4.15
Nink - 4.18

Nink is a little stouter, Starr is a bit more agile. Perhaps it would be better to say that Starr is the LB version of Nink.

Kareem Martins numbers are very simulary to Chandler Jones, minus 3cone time - abit slower there but hes also at 272 lbs.....

Long frame, too. I like him based on what games I saw of NC's this year.

Trent Murphy's 3 cone would have put him second amongst all DL and LB at last years combine behind only Zavier Gooden. He's back on the radar for me as that rotational pass rusher although I wouldn't take him in the first.

With only DBs to go, here are my potential Patriot first rounders based upon these combine results (ie no Tuitt or ASJ)

Ryan Shazier (let him drop back to 220 and play him at safety)
Aaron Donald
Eric Ebron
Odell Beckham

Maybe

Ra'Shede Hageman
Louis Nix
Kony Ealy
Brandin Cooks
Trent Murphy
Jace Amaro

And any obvious ones I've forgotten

I'm liking that list. I'm waiting until tomorrow to study DBs but at this point I'd be happy with any of;

Ebron, Shazier, Donald, Jernigan, Beckham, Cooks. If they aren't there then I favour a trade down. Not sure I like anyone else enough at this point.

I like the list also, I really like Hageman, Donald and Ealy with our first pick. I
I'm worried about Dallas, Philly, Green Bay and even San Diego going D-line with their first pick. Might not be much left for us when we pick and might have to go to another need.

I've been reading a lot about Shazier recently, seems like his stock is really rising. I want to watch some of his tape. Murphy, I'm hoping will last until the second, then I think he is a steal there.

You should watch some Shazier tape, it's a lot of fun. He really can run and hit.

Louis Nix ladies and Gents :rocker:

All the numbers coming out i looked at the historical numbers. All i can think was "God Jamie Collins is athletic" all time broad jump, on the top list for various others.

Err. guys.

DeAndre Coleman 4.78.

Was in my first mock and Mayo's a fan. That's damn good for a potential 5-tech.

In the Pats 4-3 Under Package, their 5-Tech is Chandler Jones currently. I think a 0-tech is a higher priority as is the 3-Tech.

I think 3-tech is their highest priority right now. 5-tech might be shortly behind that. They need more out of both of those areas. Can't really comment on the nose without knowing what's happening with both Wilfork and Kelly.

I think there was a mixup on that time and it was misreported. According to NFL's site, he didn't run.

But on to your main point, I think BB wants 5-tech types to play at the three. Think Tommy Kelly and Desmond Bryant who they tried to sign last year. Fanene also had a 5-tech build.

My dream draft has the Pats ending up with Tuitt, Justin Ellis, Fiedorowicz, and Bitonio. Everything else would be icing on the cake. (and no, they aren't in any particular order).

My dream has the Pats ending up with DT Aaron Donald (unlikely)/LB Christian Jones or LB Ryan Shazier/DT Dominique Easley (more plausible, though not a gimme by any means; Easley/Jones with a trade back is the most likely variant of those scenarios), plus one of Logan Mankins/Larry Webster as a Jimmy Graham/Jordan Cameron kind of athletic TE conversion project, Antone Exum as a safety, plus a solid interior OL prospect (Bitonio, Marcus Martin, Weston Richburg or Travis Swanson). Anything else would be icing on the cake.

I love Murphy's motor, physicality, intelligence and leadership, and his 3-cone shows nice lateral agility, but ultimately as much as I love him he's not fluid or fast enough to be a "space" player and not bulky enough, strong enough or explosive enough to be a "line" player. So while he's still on my radar, he's on my B list rather than my A list.

I'd be expecting him to bulk up to at least 265. Still, he can be a rotational pass rusher at his current size.

The thing is, with this draft as deep as it is, isn't it the perfect year to trade back to the early/mid 2nd round, and pick up some later picks? [Actually, it'd be the perfect year to have extra high-round draft picks, period.]

This is actually the year that staying put is likely to land you the players you want at the position you want. Precisely because it is so deep.

I've seen no fewer than 40-50 players on some sites (and as many as 70) mentioned as potential 1st round picks. That tells me you sit pretty unless you get an offer you can't refuse and you take the guys you want. If you get that can't refuse offer, (such as getting a top 5 pick in the 2nd round and a 2nd next year or a late 2nd this year) then yeah, you take it. But, otherwise, you stay put and take your guys cause they are more than likely going to be there.

I think you meant Logan Thomas... *LOL*
I have the Interior Line player being a High Priority. Someone who can come in and start at Center unless they fill that with someone better than Wendell.
