Next Stop, the Underwear Olympics

Wow, he keeps climbing the draft boards. I wonder if by the time the draft rolls around he isn't a top 10 pick.

He probably should be a top-10 pick, I'm hoping that more pressing needs and a prejudice against his height/arm length keep him within range, I'd even consider trading forward for him.

If I was Seattle I might consider doing that. In their scheme I think he could play the DT or the LEO.

I think you mean the DT or the 4-3 LDE. LEO is the Chris Clemons/Bruce Irvin position.

Seattle doesn't have a 3rd round pick due to the Percy Harvin trade, FWIW.

He may be. That sucks, but I wasn't expecting him to make it to #29 anyway. Easley in the 2nd, for example, would give us better value.

I'm not sure someone on those knees is good value in the second.

I'm not sure someone on those knees is good value in the second.

He actually looked more explosive last season after the knee surgery than he did in his previous "healthy" ones. Torn ACL's are not the disasters they used to be. He'll be wearing braces on both knees now so it would take a hell of a hit to blow them out again. I would prefer to wait until the third for him (I said this before) but I'm not sure he would make it that far. He would fit in this defense as a 3 tech like white on rice.

I can't see him leapfrogging Robinson/Matthews at OT, the 3 QBs, Khalil/Barr or Watkins/Evans. None of the teams in the top 10 is desperate for a penetrating DT.

13/14 seems like his ceiling to me. I don't think top 20 is a lock because of his size. Sharif Floyd was being mocked as high as #3 a year ago at this time, and fell to #23.

Marcus Smith had a 35.0 vertical. Not Jamie Collins good but still good.

Ya not having a second or third would be limiting.

Yes I guess the LDE on passing downs makes some sense but I know that's the Clemons\Irvin position. Donald just ran the same 40 as Clemons did so I was thinking on early downs you put him at LEO and really beef up your run defense against a team like the 49ers and then you could kick him inside or to the LDE on passing downs. Where he's played all over the line it's not as far fetched as it might sound. If his 3 cone comes up low 7's I think you can make a case and if he cracks 7, WOW.

His official time was 4.68, also off a bit. Good, but not Collins-good.

Aaron Donald with a 32" vertical, BTW. Timmy Jernigan 29.5. Compare with Nick Fairley (31"), Suh (35.5"), Atkins (33"), McCoy (30.5") and Fletcher Cox (26").

10'1" on the broad. Also good but not exceptional.

I think this highlights how freakishly athletic Jamie Collins really is. Off the charts. Top 10 talent athletically.

Good point, with the 3 quarterbacks, 2 offensive lineman, Clowney, Watkins and Mack, those are probably 8 guaranteed top ten picks leaving only two spots for :

-Barr
-Lewen
-Mike Evans
-Donald
-Jernigan
-Ealy
-Ebron
-Justin Gilbert
-Nix

I'm not sure if I'm missing anyone but this shows what a really a deep draft this is.

Ryan Shazier had a 42" vert. That is a very big wow! As in better than Jamie Collins.

10'10" broad too.

Christian Jones 4.63, 1.66

Adrian Hubbard ran well 4.63, 1.62 at 250+

Question....if Spikes is indeed sent packing, how will Pats go about adding depth...draft (low rounder likely) or FA? Any FA names that might be a cost effective fit?

4.75, 1.66 for Trent Murphy. OK.
