Welker throws Fox under the bus

I'll post once I find the link but apparently one of Broncos' players told media post game that John Fox insisted on lowering the volume at practice because from his experience coaching in the big game, it doesn't get that loud....

I don't think that was a mistake at the time. You should probably expect it to be quieter than an average away game since there's not as many actual fans. You can't prepare for everything, and if you prepare for excruciating noise level then maybe you're not preparing as well for the normal case. Plus the snap was way off target; even if manning wasn't expecting it, it shouldn't sail high and to his right

It, of course, is never Manning's fault.

You suck

The safety is Manning's fault, he likes to be the one on the spot lights with all that show on the LOS, flapping, barking, rolling, to show "look, how good I am, I'm the maestro of this offense" , confusing his own teammates, someday that would happen.

Unfortunately it happened in a SB

Whatever Welker needs to tell himself. Considering how teams that have used him have fared in Super Bowl at best he's simply not an important piece in those games.

Pete Carroll made big stops of 30+ minutes during practice to prepare them for the half time show break and getting back on the field hot without losing timing or the pace. Apparently it worked

That's preparing for every possible scenario.

Fox got totally out coached, badly.

It was high and to his right, because Ramirez was snapping it to the shotgun position, and Manning was flapping his arms like a chicken and running up behind the left guard at the time.

Manning moved to he left.

This is a good example of why Belichick preferred Welker to keep a lid on his mouth.

Gee, Wes, did you think everyone prepares for games like Belichick?

I feel it was a mistake... with 2 weeks to prepare for the biggest game of the season you have to prepare for everything... Manning himself has been to 2 SBs before and he should know better... as for the snap, it was definitely a good snap.. manning stepped left to do his usual stuff but ramirez was accurate with the snap

Apparently based on the way the Broncos offense played, they also didn't prepare for the Seahawks to actually play defense either. That was probably something they should have prepared for more than the crowd noise.

Must have been a huge shock when Peyton actually got hit. Something that hasn't happened since like 2010.

I don't know how you can derive a little quote about crowd noise to throwing his coach under the bus.

Easy

The Head Coach is responsible for what is practiced and what is not. According to reports, Fox didnt deem it necessary to prepare for noise.

Welker just told the world that fact.

you should throw the thread title into the toilet.

Your favorite little slot WR just showed his butt big time.

Maybe Welker is a little locker room cancer and thats why BB doesnt like him? Ive read rumors that Welker wasnt exactly Mr Popularity with the Pats.

Anyway, the curse of Welker lives on.

PFT did a story where Bronco coach John Fox explained why, despite the fact that their practice facility has speakers set, the Broncs were not preparing for crowd noise. Fox said in his 2 prior SB experiences crowd was not an issue.
BIG mistake by the head coach. You prepare for everything.
Pete Carroll practiced halftime.

Pete Carroll practiced halftime.
I remember leading up to SB 46, reading about how BB was running practices as if it were the game and including a long break for the extended halftime show during it. BB probably did that during the other ones but that's the one I recall, specifically.

they certainly were unprepared...as any competent proctologist will tell you, one needs a complete lubrication of the sphincter before any rectal exploration. Seems Seattle just went ahead and rammed it up there dry.

Thye did put axle grease on it, but then rolled it in sand.

To be honest, I assumed it was something that every coach did. Maybe it's because we know what's how BB (and apparently Carroll) think, but it seems so obvious to practice in the manner you're expecting to play.

One of the sillier threads ever started here on Patsfans.com. Congrats to the O.P.!

Welker always was a little knob, and he looked like a joke with that big goofy helmet. 0 fer 3.
