Per rotoworld, he tweeted that on December 20.
Adrian Wilson - New England Patriots - 2014 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com

Patriots S Adrian Wilson (injured reserve) tweeted that he underwent Achilles' surgery.

Wilson was placed on injured reserve before the season started, but the team had made no announcement to what the injury was. We're not sure if Wilson tore his Achilles' or not, but he just recently began running on Thursday. He signed a three-year deal with the Patriots in March. At 34 years old, Wilson is a candidate to be released in the offseason. His career may be over.

Wilson will bring in a $1.16m cap savings when he's cut. That money will be used to sign FAs.

I don't see Wilson coming back next season. I think Kelly could be a good addition if he's healthy, though.

Wilson must go we need to money and he is to old.

Kelly has to work out some kind of deal or be let go

Wilson was one of my favorite players, and I don't think he was nearly as bad as people say in his last year playing. That was a coach's thing, making room for younger players and signalling to the fans that one of their all-time best was leaving.

He looked awful in camp last year...now we know why. And no, I can't imagine a 35-year-old D-back returning from an Achilles. Too bad.

But for those wanting nothing to do with older players, John Abraham says hi. Tell me we couldn't have used his 11.5 sacks opposite Jones last year...

Not "bye" to you.

I suggest that pro-bowlers who are asked to cut their salary to the vet minimum when they started the year before are likely to tell the team that asked them to cut their salary to take a long walk.

I suppose that there are players who simply aren't interested in money and risk their lives and limbs every day just so the owners can make money and so that they might be on a Super Bowl team.

What you are saying is that
1) Kelly doesn't care about money.
2) Kelly can't get minimum or more from another competitive team.

Sometimes players can actually find a competitive team to play for that doesn't ask him to take a 50% pay cut (or more).

For me, when someone asks me to cut my salary in half, I don't ask them what else they would like me to give them.

It is not so much that he doesn’t care about money, I don’t know about you but I don’t make $1 million or less a year so he is certainly getting paid, also we paid him this year a full salary for 5 games so it is not as if Kelly is coming up on the short side of the stick here.

I thought Wilson had a hamstring injury, not an achilles injury. Very different problems.

In any event, Wilson was believed to be on the roster bubble. If he can play, no problem with him sticking around but I think he is a long shot. They won't pay him if he just ends up as depth. I'm not optimistic he'll return.

I agree I would like to see Kelly return.

I thought that too but then he posted something on Twitter or some site of him running for the first time since his Achilles injury.

I would have been really excited about the Wilson signing....SIX YEARS AGO....

Look, the safety play on this team has been atrocious for years! Look at the deffierence bringing in Rodney meant. I have no idea why anyone thinks McCourty is any good and Gregory is God awful! He is a dollar short and a day late on every play. Watching him get bowled over on every tackle (ASSuMing he actually made contact and didn't whiff) is a weekly occurance.

I wanted the Pats to draft Ogletree from GA last year and move him to Safety (he had a great rookie year for the Rams playing OLB). Maybe move Collins to Safety. There is nobody on the Pats secondary that will deliver a blow. Hell Welker wearing his Dark Helmet helmet hit harder than any of our Safties on Sunday. This team needs a WR over 6'3" who weighs more than 175 lbs and a safety who can bring it.

We often believe that we should look at nfl salaries in comparison to our own. That is unreasonable. NFL players are the best of the best. Consider how much the best doctors in the word make, or the best lawyers, or the most popular singers. NFL starters are the best of this group. Also, these players have a careers much shorter than those in the "real world".

I have no problem with the team offering Kelly a take it or leave it $1M a year, and rejecting our contractual option of paying him much more. I just suggest that he will reject such an offer. There are other competitive teams that will wnat him if he is healthy.

It is not so much that he doesn’t care about money, I don’t know about you but I don’t make $1 million or less a year so he is certainly getting paid, also we paid him this year a full salary for 5 games so it is not as if Kelly is coming up on the short side of the stick here.
