Ryan Allen News? - Bueller?, ...

Gost punted so well I wonder if they'd keep him on double duty for the rest of the playoffs and use the roster space for one of the practice squad guys.

Ghost mentioned after the game that punting messes up his kicking mechanics. We don't want that. Bring in a new punter, can't risk messing up Ghost fg kicking.

Listening to the mediots this morning and apparently the best available is Chris Kluhe.... do not see it an issue for the Pats, but there are folks here who will get their depends in a bunch. And the predictable scribes will try to make something out of nothing...

They aren't going to have Gost pull a muscle. They are going to pick up a punter unless Ryan is good to go, otherwise IR.

That's why they work out punters all the time, there's two of those available. They won't miss having to use the next best guy a couple games, these guys are motivated to do a good job.

Did Kluwe hold in MIN? We'll probably find out later today what the Patriots are going to do at the punter position.

We have healthy inactives so there is nothing to gain by saving a roster spot.
I cringe in fear Gostkowski won't catch the snap. Other than that we probably give away a net 10 yards from a real punter to him.
He did great pressed into duty, but he is not an NFL punter.

Kluwe is not very likely the best option, but he is the name the media people recognize the most, so they think its the same thing.

BTW, I can't have been the only one who sorta wished they had Ghost dropkick it instead of that punt from the IND 26, right?

(I know they'd never actually do it since it's not a practiced thing -- can't risk a screwup being returned for a TD, but it's nice to dream.

No, you have punt it there. Any time you can gain 6 yards of field position you have to pull the trigger.

I just kept thinking..don't kick his hand....

whats Ken Walter's up to these days?

If roster space was truly an issue, Jake Bequette would have been back in Arkansas selling timeshares the past few months.

I have to be honest. I'd forgotten that he exists.

If Allen isn't ready to go we will bring in another punter. It would be stupid to have Gostkowski out there punting because it increase the risk of injury to him. We will need him if we get to the SB.

It takes two to tango.

If he keeps his mouth shut, it won't be an issue.

If he dares to hijack the Patriots season for his soapbox, then he should be escorted off the field/lockerroom/bus before he can finish the sentence.

Living in Charlotte, NC (Huntersville, actually)working as a Salesman for a Landscaping Company. I was at his house a few month ago. Really cool bonus room with all kinds of Pats stuff on the walls.

No Gost punting please, that was an emergency role.

As far as Brady holding , I like the idea

I think Kluwe probably is the best punter available regardless of being a team distraction, but he's right-footed so I doubt it'll happen.

Tom Malone, who was on the Patriots practice squad for three years from 2006 to 2009, may be an option if Allen is unable to go. Of course, he wasn't on an NFL roster this season, so who knows. He and Ben Graham are the only left-footed punters with NFL experience that I can see.

Usually more punts in a game than FG tries. Makes me nervous that Gostkowski would be back there exposed to "running-into" or "roughing" the kicker or whatever they call it these days. He's a guy we just can't lose.

Also, not all that happy to see Brady there as a (literally) sitting duck on FGA's. Not as dangerous as the punter who moves towards the rush, but scary nonetheless.

I was thinking that too but, I think it's too risky incase Gost gets hurt too. Too bad Brady isn't a really good punter. Would be awesome to always have to worry about a fake if your QB was a good enough punter(although again, injury risk).

I had read in one of the Patriots book (Maybe Moving the Chains, one of those) that Brady used to tell everyone that he was the best punter on the team. And they did let him punt that year (pooch punt on third and long I think)

Not sure he is looking for a forum right now, seems as though he need for a job is greater....

The payback for that punt was that Indy didn't call timeouts with 2 minutes left to extend the agony.
