His INT within the first 2 minutes of the game, set the tone..

He just grabbed the ball away, set the tone.

He is only going to get better. Some fans seem to forget this is only his second year in the league. Samuel didn't make the jump until his 3 rd or 4th so I already think den nard is ahead of schedule. Same for Ryan.

First time he has looked like himself since the knee injury and gives us our full complement of CBs. I did not that Arrington was replaced by Ryan, who looked very good. Anyone understand what was behind that move?

he really is an important cog in our secondary. it allows us to play physical man coverage. if everyone can stay healthy, our secondary can be a strength for us.

only downside is luck completed some long throws against us. but I dont see McCourty allowing that often.

To my uneducated eye he looked healthy again - hopefully no-one else saw differently; if we play Denver next week we need all these DBs healthy and it looks like we're getting there.

We could get 5 CB caliber DBs out there with Talib, Dennard, Ryan, Arrington, McCourty.

injuries seem to be his only problem. very good cb

I think it's very hard to totally shutdown fast receivers, especially, when the QB has time to throw the deep ball.

Limiting these speedy WRs to a few catches is the best we can do.. IMO

The long pass play to Hilton was an incredible play. That is just one of those that you tip your cap and move on. I was pissed but the "luck" involved had to be perfect. Perfect scramble, perfect throw, incredible catch.

Absolutely. Give Luck credit for that perfect pass.

Good, solid player. But, I'd have to say his penchant for violating parole/DUI are as much - if not more - problematic...

Always thought Dennard was a solid DB. It's just shakin injuries which brings me to if our Def as whole could stay healthy and playin together can match up with any Offense. Man! Never thought i would say that from last couple of years how far they've come with Talib settin tone.

Only when he's in Nebraska. . . . :nooo:

Most importantly he looks healthy again, which is huge for next week (along with Talib back at full strength now). And he should be even better next week with a game of real time action under his belt after a long layoff.

Alfonzo Dennard deserves more recognition

A lot of the lack of recognition is Dennard’s own doing, he has gained so much attention for his off the field arrests, court cases and jail terms that his performance on the field goes unrecognized. The reality is the kid has been outstanding in his first 2 seasons here.

Including the playoffs he has played in his 26 games he has – 82 combined tackles, 74 solo tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 6 interceptions, 1 return for a touchdown, 19 pass defended, 2 stuffs.

You could make the case that Dennard is the best CB to enter the NFL in the past 2 drafts.

True that... and you could also make a case for being the most active poster in the last year. GO PATS!!

Re: Alfonzo Dennard deserves more recognition

Not going to slobber all over the guy for having a good game versus the Colts but yes he has been quite good. A great pick for a seventh rounder (though I think it had to do w/off the field issues which he is still dealing with). Very solid in man to man coverage.

Re: Alfonzo Dennard deserves more recognition

He's played very well the last two seasons. Can't wait for him to dominate Decker

Re: Alfonzo Dennard deserves more recognition

He is a quality corner and an ideal #2. I'm not sure if he will ever make the jump to elite but in only season 2 he has been better than most of the corners they've had. Still gets beat once in awhile and that happens to every corner in this pass happy league with the rules geared in the offensive direction. Love the guys game. Problem is some fans expect shutdown at every secondary position which just isn't going to happen.

Re: Alfonzo Dennard deserves more recognition

Yeah, as long as Dennard serves his 37 days in jail, along with the actual completion of his probation (very important), we can then say that we got a helluva steal by taking him in the 7th round.

He has got to get free and clear of that probation sentence, as that specific judge has promised him that he will get absolutely zero chances from here on out. One more scuff up and he serves a few yrs in jail.
