Jamie Collins!!

Collins is going to be a superstar. His athleticism is just filthy.

I couldn't hear because I was in a loud sports bar but I thought I heard one of the announcers say that JC started on offense and then went to a defensive back role(safety) before becoming a LB. Is that right?

Some said Collins was the best ATHLETE in the draft

They were right. It also turns out he's not just an incredible athlete but an incredible football player with top notch instincts.

His stat line: 6 Tackles (3 Solo), 1 Sack (which was explosive btw), 2 TFL, 1 INT, 3 QB hits, 1 PD.

Mentioned this in the game day thread, just wait until we get the leaders on D back next season fully healthy with Collins now a nailed on starter, then get a top safety in the draft and you may just be looking at something similar they're doing in Seattle on defense.

WHAT. A. STUD.

Wait... we finally drafted a linebacker who can cover the Tight End in space? Hallelujah!! This is the guy that could be the missing link for our defense. WE have really lacked the coverage linebacker for a LONG time and it BURNED us so often in the playoffs!

I saw at least a couple of plays where Collins size and length really prevented Luck from making plays to the Colts big tight end Fleener. One of those was in the endzone. Collins sack and coverage interception were of course also big standout plays.

I'm glad the Pats scouts and BB rolled the dice on this kid. He has through the roof athleticism, and this week he showed that he could be a PLAYMAKER in big moments. Hopefully Jamie Collins continues to standout in good ways the rest of the playoffs because we will sorely need him.

Next up - Peyton Manning or Phillip Rivers??

Jaime Collins just raised his OWN bar - I hope he lives up to it.

19-0 next year :singing:.

Monster game. The man was everywhere.

Loved his game tonight. Just a beast all over the place. His pass rushing skills were probably most impressive to me. Looking forward to what he can do next week.

The thing I like most about Collins is the momentum of his career; he literally seemed to improve every single week of the season and tonight he looked like Von Miller with Revis coverage ability. It was the most impressive LB performance I can remember on this team in recent years.

Absolutely. Made a great play on a pass to Chandler in the Buffalo game. (And had a very nice play forcing an incompletion by Welker late vs Denver.)

I'm so excited for this guy and what he's going to be in the future. I really hope in five years we're looking back and saying 'Sheldon Richardson got the DROY but we all know who ended up being the best defensive player chosen that year."

you know why you all like him so much now??...SPEED...you cannot coach speed, you either have it or you don't and he's easily our fastest LB'er and it's showing now

Actually, I REALLY like him because he seems to take well to coaching and, if his play tonight is any indication, the guy appears to have a penchant for stepping up to the plate when the moment gets bigger. Those are intangibles that allow someone with sick physical talent to become a superstar in this league.

Aiken will be tendered. I don't see why not.

I said on the draft forum this week that the great thing about a Mayo-Hightower-Collins group is they can be the LB in a 4-3 then, if the offense goes to hurry up and spreads out, we can switch to a Nickel with Collins as a DB without changing personnel. It may not be the optimal usage of him but it would be a very valid nickel defense.

The great thing about Collins is he looks equally good going forward and backward. Most linebackers are good at one. Collins looks excellent at both, explosive on the blitz, smooth in coverage.

Joker has been all over Collins since the beginning. I have been impressed with the young fella since draft night, learning of his versatility and his experience playing all over the field. He was on a terrible Southern Miss team that went through some awful adversity, and he performed to the best of his abilities.

He has gotten better every week, he really had a great 22 snaps against the Broncos with 10 tackles and he has done his job, whatever has been asked. Then he gets an opportunity to play the whole game and he doesn't just run with it, he explodes. Very exciting young player.

Well.... I'd be all over the anti-Blount homers from the beginning of the season

There's quite a bit of 'expertise' that has looked stupid this year

that's what happens when OPINION collides with FACTS.
