Somebody will say anything stupid for hits.

I'd rather shoot a nail gun into my thigh than give something so daft, a click.

cam newton

I'd say that this year, that is correct. Brady has performed worse than any of the other QBs in the playoffs.

Love it! That article will be in TFB's e-mail today from Belichick. He almost always plays great. But, seems to play even better with a chip on his shoulder.

what a bunch of completely subjective manure......

even his rankings are ass

brady still has one of the best releases and accuracy on his short passes....no one in the league hits those short to medium outs like he does

his intangibles are unmatched......if he isn't #1 in that category, well....

and his movement in the pocket/pocket presence is much higher than this clown ranks him

it is a bad concept to begin with.....but at least have a clue

You can make a case that Brady is not the best on arm strength or mobility. But, on accuracy? With so many short receivers, Brady would be nothing if not for his accuracy. On pocket presence and awareness, he's one of the best ever. I don't think I've ever seen a QB make fewer bonehead decisions. Plus, intangibles? That's why we make the playoffs so often. Brady has great instincts at managing a game, reading the defenses, working with rookies, controlling the tempo, finding the open guy. How many of us even expected the Pats to get into the playoffs, given all the key injuries? The reason they're here is at least in part because Brady is an exceptional QB. Brady is clearly one of the top 3 QBs in the playoffs. Who the other two are is debatable.

Look at the stats and then make that case.

Look at the stats and then make that case.

Stats are for losers and are often, if not always, misleading.

Sorry but you can't argue that their ranks for intangibles and poclet presence are anywhere near justified.

Stats can't tell you how smart a QB is at reading a defence or how well he stands in and steps up in to the pocket and, if you ask a professional, I don't think there's many people who would argue he's the best to have ever done it on a consistent basis.

Brady has been inaccurate this year, has taken too many sacks, has been called for too many intentional grounding penalties. and thrown too many interceptions.

Those are the facts.

The author has some pretty subjective measurements, especially his intangibles rating. Manning number 1? Hard to believe anyone who really watches the NFL would put Manning number 1. Anyway, he might be on to something about the young guys coming through. Here is a nasty stat clipped from a Bill Simmons column (and don't forget he's a devout Pats/Brady fan). Maybe age makes more of difference than we thought:

• In the last eight postseasons, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees are 19-16 combined, with two Super Bowl titles.

• In the last eight postseasons, Mark Sanchez, Eli Manning, and Joe Flacco are 21-9 combined, with three Super Bowl titles.

Yikes

Look at the stats and then make that case.

The only meaningful stat is the final score. Give Brady better receivers and a better line, and his stats would go up. How many drops did Dobson have this year? How about Hooman? Amendola has been good, but hasn't been able to get open like Welker. And Brady has not had as much time, but in the end he does find ways to win, and often with incredible comebacks. He's done terrifically given our lack of offensive weapons. Do you really think that Luck or Manning would do better on our team? Do you think if we had them instead of Brady, our record would be even better? I don't.

I don't either, I am just saying that those other QBs are playing better than Brady right now. Is that a sacrilegious thing to say or acknowledge?

I am happy with Brady as the QB, but that doesn't mean I can't recognize that these other guys have brought the business this year.

As for drops, etc....All these QBs have had to deal with issues throughout the year.

You think Cam Newton has tons of talent at the skill positions?

The only guy who has had his receiving core mostly intact was Manning, but if you recall, Decker dropped a boatload of passes at the start of the season and their starting TE got hurt.

His accuracy could've been better this year, especially deep throws. But he had one intentional grounding penalty (vs CLE). And his INT % (1.8) is behind only Manning (1.5) and Luck (1.6) of QBs left in the playoffs.

None of those players have had to deal with the Flux that Brady has with the skill positions this year like Brady. He's had to adapt almost weekly to cluster**** after cluster**** and that's the one true measurement this "Article" is deliberately missing here.

Brady the worst QB left in the play offs. SERIOUSLY?

Between Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Philip Rivers, there are 36 playoff victories, 35 Pro Bowl trips and eight Super Bowl appearances.

Almost half by Tom Brady.
