NFL Network to announce Pro Bowlers 9 PM ET, 12/27

Mayo had a 300k LTBE Pro Bowl incentive
Ninkovich has a 200K LTBE Pro Bowl incentive
Talib has a 500K NLTBE Pro Bowl incentive
Slater has a 300K LTBE Pro Bowl incentive
Vollmer has a 250K NLTBE Pro Bowl incentive
Arrington has a 250K NLTBE Pro Bowl incentive

Net cap effect = zero since the earned 500K NLTBE earned by Talib is offset by the unearned LTBE incentives of Mayo and Ninkovich.

I had to read that a second time before I saw "fans members."

Well-played, sir.

As I've said in the past, the Pro Bowl needs to just go away. It's out of reach for most real fans to attend, anyway, and it has no real meaning as far as a game goes. The players rarely play full speed or full contact, lest they get injured in a meaningless game.

My solution is to replace it was an NFL version of the College "All American" system. Reward the players selected with a nice trophy/plaque/jacket, whatever.

Then, make a donation of whatever the game check would be to a player's selected charity on their behalf. It's a win/win all around. The players get bragging rights, and then some charity he likes gets a nice check in his name.

Anyway, I realise that others mileage may vary, but that's how I see it.

Here's the complete NFL pro bowl list for 2014:

2014 Pro Bowl rosters: Peyton Manning, Tom Brady headline AFC selections | www.ajc.com

Patriots selected:
QB Tom Brady
G Logan Mankins
CB Aqib Talib
ST Matthew Slater

Congrats to all the Patriots selections! They have earned it!

PS How is this for irony. Although Cleveland outnumbers the Pats in pro bowlers 5 vs 4, they have a 4 and 11 record while the Pats have the mirror opposite 11 and 4 record.

He may have gotten jobbed for the pro bowl, but the others on this thread who think he has a shot at all-pro should probably put the pom-poms down. Justin Tucker will be your all-pro PK for 2013.

The AP voters don't always agree with the public, and there are two AP All-Pro teams (first and second).

I understand the premise of what you’re saying and agree with the irony of it, that aside the Pro Bowl is an individual accomplishment and the 5 Browns selected are having great individual seasons and are deserving of it their selection.

Josh Gordon – 13 games, 80 receptions, 1564 receiving yards, 9 touchdowns.
Joe Haden – 15 games; 54 tackles, 4 interceptions, 20 pass defended.
Jordan Cameron – 15 games, 75 receptions, 848 receiving yards, 7 touchdowns.
Joe Thomas – 15 games started.
Alex Mack – 15 games started.

I have much bigger problem with players such as:

Cameron Wake, Miami
Haloti Ngata, Baltimore
Jairus Byrd, Buffalo
Troy Polamalu, Pittsburgh

I hope Tom Brady, Philip Rivers, Drew Brees, Joe Staley, and Frank Gore attend this year's Pro Bowl since I am most looking forward to seeing these players.

Not to get off track but Semi OT: Do they put HGH in the water down in Atlanta? Abraham (now in Arizona) and Gonzalez playing at the level they’re playing at 35+ years old that is amazing.

Abraham – 35 tackles, 11.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 3 pass defended, 5 stuffs, 1 safety.
Gonzalez – 79 receptions, 803 receiving yards, 8 touchdowns, 54 first downs.

I am actually in AWE of these two, so impressive.

Side note - I guess we should have made a strong push for Abraham in the offseason considering we ended up adding Carter who has not been even close to as productive as Abraham has been.

Brady will not attend
Brees 50/50

The others I am not sure.

Off topic - I anticipate that once the calendar turns to 2014 we will sign your boy to a futures contract.

Brady won't because he will be preparing for the SB

I wish Tom Brady would attend. Well, hopefully some of my other picks attend this years Pro Bowl.

Awesome, I hope Tim gets another shot. Thanks for the kind words I appreciate that.

I would wager on him being signed by to a futures contract in the next 1-3 weeks. This will give him the opportunity to spend 6 months working with the team before OTAs open up. That is huge gives him a chance to either work on his QB craft or make a position change; my prediction is that he converts to a H-Back/Tight-End in a flex role and actually is successful and becomes a productive member of this team.

IF no NFL team gives him an opportunity as a QB than I hope that he considers switching positions. He's athletic and can help a team win since he's very versatile. The problem has been his insistence on strictly playing the QB position only and many NFL teams are leary of putting Tim in any type of QB position at the present time. However, I am sure many NFL team would love to have him play as an H-Back/Tight End.

I say let Tim really work on his throwing mechanics, accuracy etc for 6-8 months with the team/coaches and see if he improves enough with his throwing mechanics to be a back-up QB. However, If his throwing mechanics haven't improved than I say let him switch positions. My only concern with the position change is whether he would be open to it since he's has been insistent on be the QB. Nevertheless, hopefully Tim does will do whatever it takes to get back in the NFL because I know he's would be a great asset to an NFL team.

Not to jump into a premature conversation but I think him changing position would be the best decision. Look at Julian Edelman he was a college QB and he's become one heck of a WR.

I believe it Tebow has a solid set of hands (which I'm not sure) he could be a fine Flex TE in a role similar to how Hernandez was used. I think his QB experience will make it easy for him to understand routes and find ways to read the defender and get open; we all have seen that he can make plays as a runner in open space.
