What a total farce of a cherry picked stat. Compare Welkers stats last season and the season before in this offense. Welker had a huge role in NE that he doesn't have to fill in Denver. Denver actually has good wideouts that put up big numbers where Welker gets the easy underneath throws. In NE he was forced to be a go to WR on almost every play and he did it a lot better then any other receiver the Pats have had this year other then Gronk.

Do you think Welker would've performed any better this year with the pats than Edelman has? I dont..

fact is that Slot Receiver is the least of our problems...edelman/Amendola have replaced welker pretty well

Julian has been doing a great job overall this season making some big plays. I know he has had health issues in the past that. However, he seems to be in better health now and performing better.

Edelman already has 96 catches 991 yards and 6 TDs for the season. 1k yards is pretty much a lock as long as he plays in the last game vs the Bills.

73 catches 778 yards and 10 TDs

Yeah, Edelman has been a more than adequate replacement.

Edelman's right in line with what Welker was doing in 2007 and 2008, especially when you consider his numbers initially took a hit when Amendola came back from injury and he was mostly lined up on the outside against the Bengals and the Dolphins/Steelers/Panthers.

More first team reps and time with Brady and their chemistry should only get better.
