Harbaugh blames 41-7 @$$ Whooping on Playing MNF the Week Before

I think it was a trap game for the Ravens. All week the media gave the win to the Ravens almost unanimously. The fan boards all said they aren't afraid of the Pats. Football is an emotional game and teams have to get psyched to win and the Ravens thought they would easily beat an injury depleted team that just lost to the Dolphins. Add in MNF hangover, the Flacco injury and the Patriots coming in totally prepared, angry at losing to the Dolphins and looking to smash them in the mouth.

Oh, the sorrow and the pity.

I don't recall BB & co. blaming the schedule after the Pats lost to the Jets four days after beating the Bills on the road.

The idea that teams read the media reports and fan board posts and get overconfident and don't try hard is ludicrous.

The Ravens D played well, holding the Pats to 300 yards. Flacco and their receivers played like hot garbage, but I think that has more to do with Flacco's gimpy knee and the lack of talent in the receiving corps than feeling overconfident.

Just call it a strong consensus from all quarters. The air was thick with talk of an impending Patriot loss even from the Boston media.

I worry about this next Buffalo game being a potential trap game. With the Patriots though, they often wake up from their sleepwalk at some point in the game and are able to turn it around.

The ravens have a sucky running game......it's what killed their team this year

I thought we ran the ball through their D like a knife through butter and they didn't get pressure on Brady like in past games. They looked flat.

Considering they had the advantage of playing at home, that nullifies the extra day he's complaining about since the Patriots lost a day by having to travel, so it balances out. Not to mention New England was coming off of a road game as well, so it's not like they had the benefit of playing at home the week before.

Needless to say he'd have somewhat of a point if this game had been played in Foxboro, but this is just ridiculous.

Maybe. I do think that the Flacco knee issue had something to do with the loss but quite frankly, I think BAL is a mediocre team. It was a 20-7 game in the 4th qtr before the wheels came off so it's not like the Pats were routing them all game. BALs prior 4 wins were vs the Jets, Squellers, Vikes and Lions...4 marginal teams..

Right, and all they managed to do was kick 3 pointers for 60 min.

Why do BB and just about every other coach constantly repeat "ignore the noise."
The point may have more to do with "focus" than "trying hard"...but the reality it is human nature to fall prey to the seductions of flattery and praise. Women have mastered this art of conquer and devastate since the creation....and in sports
Mike Tyson....meet Buster Douglas.

Rams meet the Patriots

Patriots and their fans have moved on. They are focused solely on the Buffalo game this sunday.

Some Pats fans are apparently focused on Rex Ryan and the Jets, but, otherwise, yeah.

Boo hoo. 1 day is gonna make a difference, really???
home field gives you 3 points in Vegas

Apparently, having a MNF game gives you a 30 point disadvantage (I'm discounting the last 2 TDs and giving the 3 points back).

That really doesn't seem right.

Exactly. there has always been a problem for teams who play MNF going on the road the next week, but never for teams with home games. Bottom line, the Patriots came in ready to hand the Ravens their asses and they were not ready for it. Ray Rice had it right, they got beat.

Didn't the Patriots beat the #1 seed in the AFC a week after playing on Monday Night Football?:rocker:

Hey, stop using facts to make a point.

It's not Harbaugh's fault. Whining, crying and squeeling is to the AFC North what water is to wet. He probably doesn't even realize he sounds like a little b!%#&

14 of those points had to do with believing that using a seldom used backup could rally your team from the jaws of defeat in about when you are down by 20 points in about 2 minutes, while you gave up 14 more points in about 50 seconds.

Lousy coaching, lousy clock management...

How was playing Taylor bad coaching?

The game was effectively over. If you lose today, you might not go to the playoffs. But what you do know is that you definitely can't go to the playoffs unless you win next week. So throw in the towel, pull the guy who's not 100%, and worry about week 17.

Sure.. Well they were at it. Let's challenge for a touch back...fumble....touchdown, New England!

At half time interview I think Hardhead mentioned they might get to Brady if the OL stopped holding. Half time squeal by Hardhead on national TV, go figure.
