I haven't listed everyone, just the players who could conceivably get votes as top priorities.

I also haven't listed players who aren't actually FAs in 2014 (e.g., McCourty).

Danny Aiken, LS LeGarrette Blount, RB
Andre Carter, DE
Marquice Cole, CB
Julian Edelman, WR
Dane Fletcher, LB
Michael Hoomanawanui, TE
Matthew Mulligan, TE
Brandon Spikes, LB
Will Svitek, OT
Aqib Talib, CB
Ryan Wendell, C

Blount, Talib, Edelman, Spikes and Fletcher.

Please, ENOUGH with the "next year" threads. :bricks:

This season with Mayo being lost was an opportunity for Spikes to prove to the team that he deserved a big contract and could be a 3 down player. Today he went out and laid an egg, on the season he has been non-existent as a playmaker, after forcing 5 fumbles in 12’ and being one of the more feared players in the NFL he has not forced a single fumble this season, he also has 5 less pass defends (2-2013; 7-2012). We should move on from him unless we can get him cheap.

Blount, Talib, Edelman, Spikes and Fletcher.

Blount would be a waste of money in my opinion, he is likely going to receive a decent offer from a team that wants to use him as their #1. We don’t need to pay him to be our #1 we have Ridley, Vereen and Bolden all under contract in 2014 and we have Cierre Wood on the practice squad who is a promising young player.

Tune:

I haven't given up on 2013, but, then, especially after 2007, I never expect the Patriots to win the Super Bowl.

But, as fans, I see no reason why we can't/shouldn't talk about the future.

I think without a doubt, you have to get Edelman back. He is our best receiver, period. Also, a great punt returner, just a great football player. Talib is my second choice, the rest could walk, who cares.

Edelman. Talib hasn't been great 2nd half of year...

Marquice Cole no doubt

Much as i want Edelman back I have to go with Talib because it is much harder to find a really good corner than it is a WR. My preference would be to resign both and it's going to suck if they end up losing both of them.

Edelman! Talib hasn't played well lately.

Edelman, no brainer.

He's Wes Welker 2.0 but with better punt return skills, a little taller and much younger.

Talib is a great CB when healthy, but at this point he is what he is, injury prone. The guy constantly has a nagging injury that severely diminishes his performance.

Edelman Edelman Edelman Edelman Edelman Edelman

I'd be LIVID if we let Brady's [new] fav target leave for the 2nd year in a row. Especially 2 very similar players.

Anyways, I'd be ok let Talib go. He seems to have a nagging problem with that hip. Otherwise he's great when healthy but I don't want to take that chance. I'm sick of injuries.

Say if he didn't have that problem, what could we offer him, 6mil a year at least? I'd rather spread that over 2 players at 3-4mil each or something

Brandon Browner maybe? One of the better tall CBs available (6'4)

Who is your top priority for resigning this offseason?

I wanted talib at the beginning of the year. But now i really dont care if they keep him

I said Talib cause I don't see the pats bringing back both him and Julian Edelman, Talib will still get 6 or 7 million per and now that Julian Edelman is going to have a 100 rec 1000 yard season he is going to get 7 plus on the open market I don't see the pats paying that,

I hope they are both back but I think Talib will be easier to sign. I could see a team like the colts or lions throwing some money at Edelman

Why would Edelman get more than welker, who many think is better?? I think we re sign Edelman and talib.

Talib. If there's one position where I'm tolerant of fragility it's CB, because BB is going to build a deep collection of DBs no matter what.

(I guess RB is another. In different ways, offense and defense both have backfields by committee.)
