The OFFICIAL Patriots vs. Browns Post Game Thread

My ANGLE is dealing with reality. Something you clearly have problems with.

1) Drew Rosenhaus isn't going to tell Garafalo squat. Why? Because Rosenhaus knows how the Patriots operate.

2) The inner workings of the Patriots has nothing to do with the technology available. They don't make definitive announcements about injuries until after it's been confirmed.

3) Maybe you should re-read some of the tweets because many of them are saying COULD BE a torn ACL. Not like Garafalo's statement which was definitive.

4) I think most Pats fans are upset about the realty that Gronk is out of another playoff run. Who gives a crap who knew what first?

Was I the only one annoyed that Boger had to look to see how many fingers he had up when he announced what down it was?? Seriously, dude??? He did it multiple times........

He was flashing gang signs a few times.

Couldnt tell if it was Crips or Bloods though.

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

Why the hell is the slit-throat motion illegal?

God, we're such a country of sniveling, apologetic little men...

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone sometimes.

Is the choke sign legal in the NFL?

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

I kinda wonder if Gordon regrets it now.

Same old Browns.

Confession time - I thought we'd lost! I work Sunday evening's until 10pm and was watching the game via NFL.com (which sucks). I closed the window on the browser not long after Jordan caught the TD assuming that was that.

I even went on to another forum after I got in from work an hour later congratulating the Browns on their victory!

The cause and effect relationships you try to establish are particularly amusing to me Brady6. I suppose, at least you are consistent.

Cause and effect is always open to interpretation in situations, all that’s computable is the outcome. As for it being amusing many people laugh off reality in an attempt to ignore it so I am not surprised.

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

Good riddance. You don't celebrate early in a sport where your opponent can score 8 points while basically eating like 8-10 seconds from the clock. In football, anything can happen, that's one of the reasons why it's so much more popular in the States than any other sport.

God you're an irritating little twit. Your logic is fuzzy at best. Your information is often incorrect, and your effort to establish your self as an opinion setter on this board is just tiresome.

The only reason you’re bothered by my opinion is because you cannot dispute it other than to belittle me or lob an insult my direction. If you could dispute you would just do that and not have to turn to the 16 year old on the school bus approach to posting.

My information is never incorrect and I challenge you to identify anything to support that statement, that is a baseless accusation in an attempt to coax others into believe your position is valid.

Do you realize you have almost the same number of posts in one season than I've had in over a decade here. That should tell you something, because sometime I think I post too much and spend too much time here

You do realize we’re 22 days from the start of 2014 correct? I can post from my cell phone, my iPad, my laptop and my desktop. I can write a post on the elliptical at the gym, walking down the street or sitting at my desk. I know how to use technology and that allows me to be consistent in my presence in a discussion, if you aren’t as savvy with technology I am sorry but my use of this board is not relevant to anything.

Your criticism of Josh McDaniels is laughable. As fans we all can complain about calls we might make if we were OC's. I do all the time. For example I hate it when we don't show a legitimate run threat on a 3rd and short. I just find it ludicrous that someone of your limited football knowledge can call out Josh McDaniels. Based on WHAT! And before you get all offended by my calling you someone with limited knowledge. I know more football that most people here, but compared to the guys you are criticizing, I too am nothing more than a fan with limited knowledge.

Common theme is you and other posters say my position is laughable or wrong but you provide nothing to justify your position. The McDaniels discussions are all the same, I point out a lack of success in a situation at multiple places from here as the coordinator, St. Louis as the coordinator and Denver as the head coach, all I hear are excuses or blame being passed along to someone else. I ask other posters to point to something tangible that is improved because of the presence of Josh McDaniels and nobody is able to go into great depth to show anything that Josh has done here.

What you don’t realize is I continue to post because I want to have an actual discussion on it in which another poster responds with an opposing position/opinion but actually provides a justification and context to support it, if I received that I would not need to continue to post, instead I have posters who turn to behavior such as that in which you exhibited here, you have provided no justification or context to support your belief, you have only belittled and insulted me and said I am wrong or my belief is laughable because well I guess because you said so. Basically you showed up to a boxing match screamed to the crowd that your opponent sucks and cannot fight, told the referee and the crowd that you win but you did not even put your gloves on.

Just give it a rest.....for all our sakes

Honestly it should not bother you, and if you didn’t think someplace in your mind that what I was saying had validity you wouldn’t be bothered, what you’ve said did not bother me or prompt me to tell you to stop posting or criticize your use of this board not in the least bit, that is because what you said has no validity in my mind because you provided nothing to support it other than to say “cause I said so”.

Are you the son of NEM?

Not that I am aware of however I do not know who NEM is. Is NEM is his real name I will ask my mother if we have any relatives

Honestly Icy I am not trying to piss anyone off here I am actually trying to have a real discussion about Josh McDaniels and his performance as an offensive coordinator, personally I have reservation about him, those reservations may not be valid but the problem is posters are only telling that they’re invalid they’re not actually explaining why which is all I am looking for, it is very hard for me change my belief on something because a poster said I was wrong, tossed in an insult or belittling comment and left it basically as “cause I said so”. I am a very objective poster and I will own when I am incorrect about something but I attempt to look at things as a realist and give credit when its merited and criticism when it is merited. I said just 3 days ago that McDaniels has done a great job with the development of Edelman because in my opinion he has, I am not out to bash a player or coach for my own agenda I am just sharing my position and looking for opposing positions that have justifications and context that I can use to educate myself and determine what is and what isn’t.

As a poster if I am doing something out of line I am certainly willing to change that behavior I have a ton of respect for you, Ian and all the other moderators in here as well as 99.9% of the members even when I am in a heated debate with one or more of them, I am not looking to upset or bother anyone I am just looking to participate in real football discussion and hear more than one point of view.

Out side of the reverse and 2 scrambles the Browns managed 49yds on 22 carries, or well under 3 ypc. The reverse was simply a great call, at a perfect time, and well executed. To lambast Jones for that is ludicrous.

However if you want to lambast him for being schooled by the best LT in the business on his pass rushing, then that's another story.

yes....the run defense was not the problem

the coverage assignments were horrible however, and in some cases appeared they didn't exist at all (as with the jordan TD in the red zone......not one defender was cognizent of a pass catching TE releasing in the redzone out of a formation that had nobody wide......that is beyone the players which is why I said patricia sucks......and yeah, BB has his hands in the stew, but to miss something like this is on the DC. the most obvious case, but the no-assignment thing was happening the entire game

That was Collins responsibility, he is a rookie.

Are there any TEs out there that NE could bring in?

I'm giving Patricia a little slack, because he's missing his two best defensive players, has others struggling with nagging injuries, and has to rely on rookies to play like they know what they're doing.

I hate to tell you guys, but it is me rather than Tom Brady who is responsible for the Pats comeback. Like in the NO game, I became disgusted with the Pats when the Browns scored their final TD with about 2 minutes to go. I was sitting in a sweet seat that my hubby got for me (50 yd. line, 25 rows behind Pats bench) as I had to sit alone this game, my son and his friend being in our regular seats. Well, my sweet seat did nothing for me (boo!!), so I decided, to get a jump on the crowd, I would start walking towards the other side of the stadium to meet my son and his friend at our designated post-game Patriots Place restaurant. Just like the NO game I decided I would watch the last two minutes from the upper end zone balcony in front of the lighthouse under the Jumbotron. Just like the NO game I watched in disbelief as Brady came right down the field and scored. Not only that, but the Pats recovered an on-side kick, finally got a PI call after their receivers were mugged all day (the call that was made was on a play that was way milder than what had gone on uncalled in the 1st half, but I'll take it!!) and scored again!! All that was left was the doink on the last minute FG try (which looked good from the screen shot - whew!!). I high fived all the security guards in the balcony area on my way out!!

I have decided that if the Pats play poorly going forward I will immediately evacuate my seat to the end zone balcony! Wish I had known about this trick in the playoffs last year against Baltimore. Happy Monday!!

This feels like a Bud Light commercial........

but Patsfans thank you for the help!

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

Why the hell is the slit-throat motion illegal?

God, we're such a country of sniveling, apologetic little men...

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone sometimes.

Because the NFL is a capitalist business that wants to maximize revenue by bringing new young fans into the fold, and they feel like children should not be seeing references to people getting knives cut into throats.

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

The rules explicitly ban it, as a matter of fact.

Note 4: Violations of (c) will be penalized if any of the acts occur anywhere on the field. These acts include but
are not limited to: throat slash; machine-gun salute; sexually-suggestive gestures, prolonged gyrations;
or stomping on a team logo.

So what is the definition of "ANYWHERE ON THE FIELD"???
- is that just between the white side markings?
- or does the sideline-bench area count too (Ocho as I recall got some of his during his cincy days there)

And so, if the REPLAY BIG-SCREEN OPERATOR (this was at a HOME game mind you); could just CUE that up in a LOOP over and over again; the REFs HAVE TO SEE IT.....

I guess (but not entirely sure that) they would still be limited to implementing the penalty before another play runs, but I would think that a good board op should be prepped or have some kind of control of the feed so he could do this (similar to get up a replay view for the coach when trying to make a red-flag decision)

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

YUP! And NEVER leave or turn off a Pats Game until 0:00 is Final!

THIS !! for the 4th time this season, I switched off the TV around 3 mins mark and next thing you know ..

may be I should keep doing this

#it's only weird if it doesnt work

Re: J Gordon gave the Patriots a slit throat at 19-3.

J Gordan gave the Patrios a slit throat at 19-3

Gordon wast trying to rub it in for Pats fans, merely trying to express how Browns players would feel after the game.
