The 2014 Mock draft Thread.

I'm not a great fan of Lynch, but this mock 'feels' right. Nice.
Haha not sure what that means, but I'll take it as a compliment, so thank you. Just curious, why aren't you a fan of Lynch?

It was a compliment. I meant that it seemed realistic as a Patriots draft. As for Lynch, I haven't seen him this year but when I've watched him previously, he just doesn't look athletic enough to be an impact receiver, or big enough to be a blocking TE. I suppose it comes down to value, but he's meh! For me.

Would you take him in the 5th if he was still there?

My one stipulation for any good mock for us is no defensive backs in the second round. Please. We have used that round for enough dbs.

First Mock in a while hoping we can some how trade up to a 2nd first rounder i feel like our biggest needs are DT/OL/TE I think if we could trade up to 2 firsts so we have 2 firsts and a 3rd id go

Ra'shede Hageman Absolute athletic Freak

Jace Amaro we need another TE with Gronk

3rd round id try and get the best interior o line that could be swanson grasu stten or whoever thats what i would go

later rounds id go for another DT and an OG or center depending on what position we picked first then a late round RB or WR to round it out

well thanks, I sorta get you but I've just loved his play over the years

Maxman, I'm sure you are aware but if not, did you know that Lynch is a local kid? Dartmouth, Mass I believe. I agree that he is a meh type of pick. Not big enough to be an impact blocker and lacks the athleticism to be an elite receiver. Later round prospect.

What do you think of Fiedorowicz from Iowa?

I was watching Fiedorowicz tape yesterday and the guy is practically a tackle.
I wouldnt mind him in the 3rd round though if we trade down and get another 3rd.

Great hands, great blocker but not very explosive. He'd make for an excellent third down/possession receiver but won't offer much as any type of downfield threat like Gronk. I really like him for what he is though. What he isn't is a first rounder. Late second at the earliest I think personally.

I didn't know that but whilst it would make for a nice story it doesn't alter things too much. I quite like GronkFlower (Blanchflower of Umass) who is also a local kid. Both are fine as day 3 options.

What there is is a shortage of day two options, you've got Ebron, ASJ and Amaro as top 40 guys and Fiedorowicz as a day two guy but nothing apart from that. I had Marcel Jensen of Fresno State in my last mock and I suspect he'll be one that could move into that day 2 conversation. But if we want a Hernandez replacement, we'll need to get that in the first by the looks of it.

Yes he is big and sluggish. I don't see a lot of separation for him at the next level.

Tamme was pretty impressive. Pats could use a guy like him and he was a 4th rounder.

Here is a new mock!

I'm going to assume they let Talib walk, possibly doing a tag and trade and picking up a #2. Wilfork will be back on a salary cut/incentive deal and Kelley too.

1. Bradley ROBY OSU or Darqueze Dennard Michigan State CB
2. Travis Swanson C ARkansas
3. trade for 4th and 5th
4. Arthur Lynch TE Georgia
4. Ed Stinson DE/DT Alabama
5. Abbrederis WR Wisconsin
5. Marquis Flowers LB Arizona
6. Max Bullough LB Michigan State
6. Jacob Pedersen TE Wisconsin
6. Carrington Byndom CB Texas
7. Trey Millard FB Oklahoma
7. Caruan Reid DT Princeton

A bevy of picks!

One of my favorite Pats mocks I've seen all year, really love the first 5 picks, Flowers is questionable for me but Bullough and Pedersen are great late picks as well with Millard. I do have questions with Reid and Byndom, rather take ****rell from Duke or Belue from Bama over Byndom, I'd also rather take a project or fallen prospect with Reid's pick like a Lyerla possibly or a QB like Renner, Savage, Shaw, or Lynch, favorite draft I've seen in a while anyways, however unrealistic IMO unfortunately

Make it Fuller, Gilbert or Dennard with Swanson and I'm fully aboard. The other pick I really like is Caraun Reid (love that guy).

Ok, i was bored and i want to put it out there before some of these gys start shooting up boards( they already are but wtv ound: )

1 - Trade down for a 2&3
2a - Brandon Scherff, OL
2b - Travis Swanson, OL
3a - EJ Gaines, CB
3b - Carlos Hyde, RB
4 - Rob Branchflower, TE
6a - Trey Millard, FB
6b - Zack Kerr, DL
6c - Brent Urban, DL
7 - Crockett Gilmore, TE

Double dippin' time!

I've become obsessed with us taking another tight end this year, and the 2 players I love are Amaro and Lyerla. Amaro might not come out, and Lyerla an knuckle head, but I love their game.

TE/DT/OL main concerns, but O linemen can be found in the 2=5 rounds. Also Wilfork, Kelly, Sopogoa and Armstead are all under contract next year still, that obv can change.

Just reading about how BB views the TE position, he's def gonna draft a TE this year, just don't know who or when.

im hoping we can trade up for a 2nd first rounder this year and hopefully get hageman and amaro or hageman and someone else hageman, jones, wilfork, kelly and armstead would be a ridiculous group at DT. Hope we can get a top rated guard or center too maybe in the 2nd or with a 2nd first rounder

I sorta like the idea, DT has some depth later on with Carethers, Jones, Sutton, and McCullers while the top TEs should be gone early on, although I like Lynch and Pedersen a lot later on too, I'll make a whole prospect list and mocks later on in the year
