I dont know, it might effect our offense as well. Dont think weather is going have a huge factor in this game.

Brady has more zip on the ball when needed at this point compared to Manning and Manning likes to go deep more often affecting those passes more.

We need 31 points to win this game.

Re: Weather for Sundays game

Ball control only works if you score. Give them a steady does of Ridley/Vereen on the ground and Gronk through the air. I see nobody on that squad capable of covering Gronk. Kuechly is probably the most capable LB in the league of doing it and even he had to hold on for dear life (pun intended).

Agree, tell ridley no to fumble and got ourselves a great game plan.

...Steven Ridley Fumble! ooops

Wes Welker has been cleared to practice and is on the field today, according to reporters in Denver.

Imagine the whining if Welker doesn't play and the Patriots win. And I'm just talking about around this board.

Fortunately then it sounds like Welker will play barring any setbacks.

Very excited for this game, definitely the one I've been looking forward to all season.

Hoping for a good, injury free game!

Good news. Jaworski just said Manning will have a big night and this won't be one of Belichick's finest games. Considering the source this means Denver will be held to ten points or less.

The only reason it would not be "one of Belichick's finest games" is because he is severely limited with the players who he can put on the field. Otherwise, it would seem as though he has a pretty good grasp on how to defend Manning as Brady has an 11-5 career record vs him.

The problem is that we have way too many injuries on defense at extremely important positions, and I'm not sure if there's too much that you can do for that.

Making Manning throw 50 times and giving our backs the ball 50 times is the best way to win, always has been and always will be.

I'd agree with the last part of your statement about us being able to run a ton of times, which would help to suck up clock and keep Manning off the field; but I'm not really sure that I'd agree with your first part.

I'm not sure that I'd want to see Manning throw 50 times vs this secondary, especially with his current weapons and mismatches.

Actually, Belichick took the exact opposite approach as DC of the NYG in the Super Bowl vs Jim Kelly and the Buffalo Bills. He literally baited them with laying off of the run defense a bit, allowing Thurman Thomas to have a successful day and even was quoted as telling his stout run defense "to allow Thomas to run a bit more" if you want to win this game.

If Manning throws 50 times, I'm hoping it's because he's playing from behind the entire time. Otherwise, we may be very challenged.

With our injuries it feels a little like the 2005 Pats-Colts game. Hope not.

They're losing this game, then the next week to the chiefs. The weather is changing and so will the denver Peyton's record.

I thought Brady was 9-4 against Manning and this was their 14th meeting?

This is the greatest QB rivalry of all time, and Brady owns it.

Owned it...

Owned it...

Exactly. Those Pats teams were very different - made up a defense of men that would not suffer defeat.

This team is not that team. I see 2005 all over again. 48-21 Denver. This will be almost unwatchable.

wasnt that also after a MNF game for the pats ?

I had 11-5, but it's quite possible that my record includes the 3 playoff games (2 wins and 1 loss), while yours does not.

Of course it's also very possible that the "11-5" record that I read earlier today just is not factually correct. I have tried to remember the four (or five) total losses, and if I had to choose I'd probably have to lean towards your 9-4 number because I can't remember more than 4.

I could be incorrect SVN, but I vaguely remember that loss in 2005 actually being on a Monday night in Foxborough.
