You dont have to score a ton if you can play defense. Which basically is the gameplan for every team in the end every week IMO.So not sure what is different.Control the time of possession, keep the ball, score points and stop them on defense.
Too many teams try to do this run the ball stuff only to give up a TD in 2mins on defense. Then you are down 2 scores and this run the ball theory goes out of the window.
If the run is effective why not? The last Charger drive was 3 straight pass plays resulting in a 3 and out. The Broncos run D has been one of their weaker points.
