I would like to see him back obviously but if he's not then I'm not going to be worried. Now that Amendola and Gronk are back and have the bye to recover and practice some more as well as Dobson improving greatly since the beginning of the season, I am much, much less worried about facing that Broncos defense than before. Ridley should be adequate to get the job done if Vereen is not back (with hopefully no fumbles) with maybe Blount making some plays as well.
Talib, IMO, is more important for that game than Vereen is. But it would be all the better if Vereen is back for the game.
Vereen should definitely be back. His injury initially was supposed to take just 4-6 weeks but they wanted to make room on the roster so they put him on the IR (with return designation) which is a mandatory 8 weeks.
Most importantly, I think we NEED Talib for the Denver game or the chances of winning go down by a lot.
Whatever the answer is, they seem to be careful this year about easing guys back into the line-up. Maybe he's an exception, if he turns out to have been ready weeks before the rules allow him to play. But more likely he'll have a limited workload his first game back.
It will be a small boon for the offense to have that good caliber dump off man coming out of the back field again. The last few years (since 2010) we had Woodhead. Before him, we had Kevin Faulk. These were reliable players who picked up a lot of extra yardage on many plays throughout the game as the outlet players for TFB and the offense. Needless to say, guys like Darren Sproles make offenses and QB's lives a lot easier. I hope he can be impactful right away.
That's why I believe Vereen is one of the most important pieces to the offense. They don't have anyone else that can catch and run out of the backfield. He'll not only take pressure off Brady with dump off passes, which could save Brady from injury, but he will also keep defenses a little more conservative which will also help the passing game as a whole.

And against teams like the Jets and the Bengals who have stronger defensive lines (less so with the Bengals without Atkins) and with a sometimes skakey O-Line, that role is all the more critical.
What could happen next week that couldn't happen three weeks from now? We've had two kids break their wrist this season on my youth team and neither had any issue jumping right back in and playing once the cast was off and that was at the 6 week point. He has had 9 weeks to heal, 10 by the time he plays. He will play and he will be fine.
