Dair Ghaelach Kylebeg Wood​

“Dair Ghaelach” means quite simply, Irish Oak.

While the name may be simple, the story of this whiskey is unique. This whiskey has been finished in casks made from virgin Irish oak grown in Kylebeg Wood on the Ballykilcavan Estate, near Stradbally in Co. Laois.

The oak influences this special whiskey with the unique flavour of the heart of Ireland.

Its unique provenance told in each sublime sip, this is the tale of our native oak striking harmony with the classically rich and spicy Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey character.

If you see it, it’s the one with the tan label. Also, Elijah Craig toasted is pretty damn good. Lastly, a good go to is Woodford double oaked, one of my favorites.

Also Redbreast 12, I can't think of a better value for money whiskey

Green Spot, Yellow Spot and Writers Tears are other favourites of mine.

For a cheaper bottle you can't go wrong with Powers or Black Bush

I ain't really a whiskey drinker, but I loved Midletons. The wooden box that I came in is a work of art.

I will ask my Irish freind if he has heard of the other brands you've mentioned.

I’m ambivalent about that. Either way could work. Easiest to keep it open for now, and if folks see a reason to start a new thread for a game they can do that. Right now I’ve got some shopping to do just from suggestions and discussion on this thread. Having those on one thread will make it easy to look back when I’m ready to treat myself to a new choice.

You have good taste. Great wheated bourbon for only $40-$45. Bardstown Bourbon Co and Green River are making some great products.
