Stephen Gostkowski named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month

Gostkowski was a perfect 9-of-9 on field goal attempts in the month of October, including a career-long of 54-yards in the 30-27 win vs. New Orleans on Oct. 13. He totaled 36 of the Patriots’ 90 points for the month.

He has been automatic this year. First time I can say that I am not worried about him having last kick in the play-offs.

Yes, he has really been great. Last season there were some shaky moments, but this year, from the start, every kick has been solid. So glad to see.

Congrats to Gost ! He really has become a clutch kicker. Even hitting those 50+ yarders. Maybe it takes time, I remember a kicker who wasn't very clutch and missed easy kicks, the Pats cut him. He became a Pro Bowl kicker, Nick Lowry. 11th alltime in scoring.

Vinatieri didn't have an easy start either, played in NFL Europe, and Parcells almost cut him with the Pats. I guess patience does pay off with kickers. Congrats Gost !!
