How Are The 2013 Non-Patriot Draftees Fairing?

Who?

10char

Rutgers corner. Good athlete (6-2, converted from WR to CB) who wasn't that productive in college. Got drafted 3rd to last by San Fran, who cut him so he ended up in KC.

Word is that he's playing very well despite teams trying to pick on him. Started last week and got 1 INT and 5 PD. The week before 1 INT and 3 PD.

It will be interesting to see if he's legit - that pass rush can erase a lot of coverage mistakes.

Richardson looks a stud for the Yets.

Milliner, less so.

Don't get the Kiko Alonso hype.

Alonso is filthy, how could you not love how he plays?

Based on the footage I've seen, he looks good in coverage at times, but his run D looks meh at best. He's done a lot of piling on too.

I haven't seen a huge amount though, so take it with a pinch of salt.

He's been impressive and I'm a bit disappointed the Pats didn't get him. He'd certainly be an improvement over Marquice Cole.

Marvin Jones who was my binky two years ago is starting to play really well for the Bengals.

#52 - CB Jamar Taylor: one of the best players available regardless of position, though
not much impact in Miami so far; Logan Ryan clearly out-performing him to date.

#59 - WR Keenan Allen: Best player available, and a Stud. Aaron Dropson: Not Stud.
Reminds me of ignoring WR Golden Tate at 52 in 2010 in favor of Jermaine Cunnyham.

#83 - Maybe Jamie Collins would still have been available here; if not, then I would likely have
taken DE Alex Okafor, currently on Arizona's IR. Pass rush continues to be a huge problem.

#91 - Probably would've taken OC Barrett Jones (St Louis) here; Connolly & Wendy have sucked
all year long, and Bill drafted Zero OLmen in 2012.

#102 - Maybe Dropson, maybe Boyce, maybe S Philip Thomas (on Deadskins' IR), or maybe
DT Jesse Williams (on SeaScums' IR).

#162, which Bill foolishly threw away for Fat Albert - S Josh Evans (Jax) if one hadn't yet been taken,
or OL David Quessenberry (Houston's IR), though OT Jordan Mills has started every game for da Bears.

#197, which Bill foolishly threw away (again) for OchoStinko - we'll just call this one the Chris Jones
pick for simplicity's sake.

I liked Alex Okafor as a specialist, but I'm okay with not taking him considering that Buchanon has been just as good as I probably would have expected Okafor to be in his rookie season. Was Okafor actually hurt, or was he one of those wink, wink, nudge, nudge you're "hurt" and going on IR now while you learn?

Margus Hunt hasn't done much for the Bengals, but again, they don't need much from him right now. Cincy has done a good job of grooming their front line guys for a year or two before unleashing them.

Because the Cardinals have John Abraham & his 8 sacks (but hey we have Andre Carter),
they can afford to give Okafor a redshirt season.

That move (or lack thereof) bothers me too. Abraham was here for what, a week? *Puts on Captain Hindsight hat* we really had to save that extra couple of million to sign Leon Washington, so no one else could use his skills to their advantage until December.

One guy, although not from the 2013 draft, whom I drooled over when he was coming out: Michael Brockers. Absolutely glacial, but a sturdy glacier. The Rams have something special in that front.

Abraham didn't care about the money. He wanted playing time, and the Cards could give him that, to the tune of 77% of the defensive snaps this season. It sounds like that playing time was the only thing stopping him from signing with the Pats.

Did not know it was about PT. It's a shame considering how much time the Pats (and basically everyone) spend in sub packages. He could have been an asset.

Thank heavens player evaluation is a binary choice between "stud" and "not stud!"

I don't know what's more ******ed: your Dropson moniker, or your comparison of Allen/Dobson to Tate/Cunningham. Just brutal stuff.

He he he.

Hey, Cap'n, seeing as Abraham has 700 snaps on the year (and has been awful for a lot of them), which DE do you take out of the lineup for him, Nink or Jones?

I really can't stand the "Dropson" or "Ochostinko" nicknames people proudly throw out there, journos and board members alike. Apparently, everyone gets brownie points for being clever, even if it's clever on a first grade level.

really glad you arent in charge of the patriots draft, because this is terrible.

Man I can't understand why you think AD has been bad. He has been pretty good, especially for a rook with us.

He didn't say Dobson was bad, just that he's not a stud and Keenan Allen is. I would have grabbed Allen in the 2nd and tried to pick up Dobson later.
