Funny how they ignore the Saints offensive holding or the Dobson OPI etc.

There again, nearly every week you'll see a "this game was rigged!!!!" thread when the Patriots win.

They just cant fathom that they lost. Listening to the fans around here this week they all thought they were going to drop 40 on us and win easily.

Another "we was robbed" thread, this one calling the game rigged. Seems that's what they're going with:

This game was blatantly rigged. No way around it. - New Orleans Saints - Saints Report - Message Boards

It's hilarious. They had 2 chances to put the game away. Can't call the game rigged when your high flying Drew Brees led offense can only muster 3 yards from the NWE 24 and has to settle for 3 points when the Pats are missing Talib, Mayo, Kelly and Wilfork and in their place are rookies and 2nd year guys.

Some of the names not being credited but should:

McCourty - When Talib went down he went straight on to Graham one on one most plays and we hardly missed a beat. We definitely missed his presence at Safety getting everyone organized but he did a very good job on Graham as well.

Vellano and Jones - Those two UDFA Rookies were out there batteling for the entire game. they had their good and bad plays sure. But congratulations to them for sticking in there and coming up with good solid defensive plays when we needed them the most.

The Brees non-TO was not an officiating blunder. The false start was, though, no question. The officials also got the call/non calls correct on the "hit to the head" plays.

Agree on the non-TO call, NO fans are only calling this a bad call in hindsight. Brees was calling the TO to avoid a delay of game, not because he was confused by the D or the playcall. If he converts that, no one points out that he tried to call a TO.

What a team win. I'm just filled with happiness and hope at this point. Guess that's what happens when TB makes your trousers fill up with bricks.

They gave Hooman that catch that hit the ground... but that play ending up being inconsequential.

They didn't award Brees the timeout or call a delay-of-game penalty on the Brees INT. I don't think this was an unfair call, but the Patriots were fortunate for the play to work out the way it did.

The replay I saw showed the ball hitting Hooman's foot and not the ground. Looked like a good catch (agreed wound up being inconsequential)

On the false start, the Pats DT (I believe Vellano) moves but it's debatable whether he enters the neutral zone (especially when viewed in real time). The OG then jumps followed by the Pats LBs entering the neutral zone. I'm assuming the line judge determined that Vellano did not enter the neutral zone, thus the call for false start. Movement by the defensive line is allowed as long as they don't enter the neutral zone. It was a close call and not unreasonable when viewed in real time (replay show that Vellano did break the plane of the neutral zone but it was close). If Saints fans are saying the officiating favored the Pats because of this call, they need to drink a dose of reality.

Pardon me, but I'm a little confused about something. I understand that the New England Patriots had a series of key stops and a TD at the end of the game to beat the undefeated Saints.

So...who WERE those guys? Because they sure weren't...

Vince Wilfork
Jerod Mayo
Aqib Talib
Tommy Kelly
Rob Gronkowski
Danny Amendola
Shane Vereen
Dan Connolly

Lordy what a gutsy win.

It was, simple pass to him at the LOS, no defender in his face and he just dropped it cold.

So he dropped the first pass of the game. It wasn't a one play game He's not the first receiver to drop a ball and he won't be the last. I believe the Pats had plenty of opportunities to recover from that first play.

Off the top of my head, they didn't give Brees a TO that he was clearly calling for, they gave Hooman a catch that clearly hit the ground, and they called a false start on a pivotal 4th and 1 that was pretty clearly a NFI against the Pats. But again, that's just part of the game. Every team has games where they get the calls and games where they get screwed, and there isn't much of anything that the team can do about it. Hopefully Pats fans remember this game next time a couple calls go against us, and refrain from claiming some cast anti-Pats conspiracy exists.

I thought the pass to Hooman never hit the ground it was on top of his shoe.

The false start was clearly a blown call by the officials, and the replay showed it.

He dropped 3 balls today.

The question was how many drops are acceptable not how many he dropped. I don't think any drops are acceptable and there's no doubt that both Dobson and Thompkins have dropped balls they should have caught.

But I'm not ready to say it's time to talk Deion Branch out of his Florida retirement community over it.

Meanwhile back at the Saints forum "The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later." I think there's some pissed football fans in the Bayou. :singing::rocker::singing::rocker::D

Brady had me on a roller coaster today. It went from FU Brady to F Yeah Brady several times throughout the game. Just when I thought he was going to end the day at an all time high in my estimation.......

I saw that sweater during the post game press conference! WTF was that?

I must'v missed something on the Amendola hit, How did we end up with a ten yard penalty?

holding on offense. helmet to helmet on amendola was not called.

So what about the high five that Edleman missed on Brady? Did Brady comment on it during the post game interview? Was it a diss or did Edleman simply not see Brady?

I know its probably beat to death in this thread, and by me lately, but I still can't stand McDaniel's play calling. He abandons the run so quick and not only that why is Ridley constantly being sidelined? Who did he piss off? Just some thoughts. Overall great game and one to be remembered in my opinion, don't like the blowouts, it was heart pumping.
