Yes, we were watching the game for a while and you could see people in Patriots jerseys (albeit waving purple Vikings flags or yellow Terrible Towels) sprinkled around the audience. Obviously the European fans don't understand the concept of loyalty to the laundry (sarcasm - I know they are rabid fans of their own brand of football). Of course, this probably has more to do with the fact that the Pats have played there twice in the last few years than anything else, but it's still sort of fun to see.
You get lots of hate for being a Pats fan in the UK, we have by far the most fans, but everybody else hates us. When I went last year I'd say there were more Brady jerseys than about half the league combined. Going to the Niners v Jags next month wearing my Gronk jersy

- Hate because of Brady.
- Hate because of Belichick.
- Getting tagged as a "glory hunter" for being a Patriots fan.
- Spygate, naturally gets brought up.
- Everyone hates the Patriots the world over if they're a fan of one of the other 31 teams!
So pretty much the same reasons as to why Pats fans get hated on anywhere else

Reasons above, people basically think you've jumped on the bandwagon. It's a bit like how Man United have the most fans in the EPL, cause they are always good. But that means they are also hated the most aswell. I'd say the Pats are the most supported and most hated team in the UK. Everyone who doesn't support the Pats hates the Pats.

NFL fans over here are just as passionate as fans from anywhere else in the world, just as an example to watch prime time games live involves staying up until nearly 5am in the UK and 6-7am in the rest of Europe!
It's still a growing sport but the fans that it already have are no doubt fans for life now. Which was reflected by a poll Channel 4 who show SNF ran last night: "Would you rather have a London franchise or regular season games in London?" the result? 59% wanted regular season games, not a franchise and that will be because people don't want to switch teams.
not a big shock that a team called the new England patriots would be popular in England and Tom Brady is the one name everyone in the world knows even if you never watched a min of the NFL
