I submit that your opinion is based more on Welker's reputation than his observable skill set. One does not have to be a master scout to see that Edelman is bigger, faster, and has better hands and body control to make difficult catches away from his body (the catch he made against the Jets on the sideline in the rain being the best example). But, I understand Wes is one of your favorite players.
It isn't. I have no favorite players, I'm a jersey fan all the way. My comments on Welker speak more on my ability to analyze his play than any current rooting interest on my part. Wes is just better. And that's OK.
What is funny is that just a week ago, I had to defend myself from the other side of this argument when I said that Wes isn't as electric as he was 3-4 years ago. Which I also stand by, though his past two games were better than his first two.
I guess I just can't win either way.
