Brandon Bolden, That's What I'm Talking About

Blouunt adds "NOTHING" to our dept at RB!

You are so frigging miserable that it is really beyond belief. I swear to god that you must be Steve from Fall River because every single thing that comes out of your piehole is unadulterated misery. Get some prozac or find a nice high building to take a swan dive off of, either is fine with me.

Where are all the Le-Slowest Blount supporters now? The Patriots are using Bolden on Third Downs now if you all haven't noticed. I still cannot believe that some people thought that Blount was better than Bodden.

Blount looked great to me in pre-season. Sunday, I saw him fatally hesitate, stop, before reaching the LOS when to him the hole seemed not there. A no-no for a power back. Yet again, pre-season heroics often don't translate into regular season performance. Of course I now have 10 months to once again forget this lesson. I know I will.

P.S. glad we have Blount even with his limitations

Ridley and Vereen are the clear 1-2. But having a guy who can back up both of their roles is damn nice.

Blount is quite good to have as a #4 back, but there is a reason he was available in exchange for a football player who doesn't want to play football.

Actually what I can't take is miserable whiners who b.tch and complain about everything they can possibly find to b.tch and cry about, and that describes you perfectly. All you ever do is complain, you add nothing to this forum other than your deep deep depression and endless misery. The Patriots are 3-0. and they ran the ball really well against one of the best run defenses in football when they needed to do so desperately, and all you can do is b.tch about a guy they got for absolutely nothing. seriously, seek help, because you need it badly.

I've never been as high on Blount as some around here but you can **** off with that lame name pun **** especially when directed towards a player on this team.

I like Bolden and Vereen ahead of Ridley.

Bolden has produced whenever he has gotten the chance. Part of why he hasn't gotten the chance has been injuries and part of it is HGH. Neither is good but the fact remains: when he has played, he has produced.

Bolden is more of a dual threat than Ridley as he catches passes.

Ridley fumbles. Seriously, don't you kind of say "don't fumble" to yourself every time Ridley touches the ball? I know that I do. I don't fully trust him and that's not at all true with the other RBs. Maybe that's not fair, but I think it's affecting Ridley too as he has not run with the same authority post-benching. He has had a few good runs but he looks more tentative to me.

Vereen, when healthy, has also been very productive.

Now I wouldn't get rid of Ridley. He has upside and is depth. But if the playoffs started tomorrow and all of them were healthy, I'd want Vereen and Bolden to get the bulk of the carries.

I do think the calls to cut Bolden in training camp were wrong headed given his skill set and the need for depth at the position, and am glad that his week 3 performance underlines that.

This isn't necessarily true. I guess I can buy why some feel it is disingenuous to remove a single game from his ypc... but it is hard to claim that he's produced every time he's gotten the chance when he had a ~3.5 ypc minus that one performance.

Not saying I want him off the team, but you might be overselling the point here.

Are you factoring yesterday in that 3.5 ypc.

And what I really mean is that when he's been featured, he's produced.

But my overall point is that I like what I see from him when he runs and catches the ball. I see a strong, powerful, skilled runner who strikes me as having real value. The numbers are not as important to me as what my eye sees and the fact that when he's been made a part of the game plan, he has contributed.

PS: That play when he didn't look back on the pass to the end zone was pathetic and unforgiveable.

But it was one play and I am confident he'll never let that happen again. Learing a lesson in a win and on a play that actually worked out because of the penalty doesn't suck.

I don't mind a pun, but that one sucked. If you're going to bring a pun, at least make it funny.

No, I meant to imply that I was only talking about last year.

Bolden is better when running off tackle rather than a stretch play or pitch out.

Haven't for the life of me figured out why Josh calls those type of plays for Bolden. He isn't a speedster at 4.55.

Maybe they can run Bolden outside when Gronk gets back and the O can seal off the edge, but not in their current state.

50% Ridley
50% Bolden
May the best man win...the majority of the carries going forward.

Despite his garbage time yards yesterday, Blount looks slow and not yearly as bruising as his size would suggest.

A bit OT but still RB related....WTF ever happened to Washington on KR? Is he injured?

Bill believes ( correctly I think) that the latest NFL changes means there will be only one KR per game when things are still warm. Later on in the season, Washington will be active for KRs.

Ridley is a two-down back with limited pass catching ability in a committee, and until perhaps Danny & Rob return and the team starts running more no huddle to maximize his effectiveness, don't expect to him to be featured at all going forward.

Bolden stepped up in the receiving back role, though he was shaky a few times, that's to be expected. I thought he did fairly well for his first opportunity being the featured guy in such a role. I expect it'll be a boost to the kid's confidence and he'll only get better as time goes on until Vereen is ready to return. Golden Bolden runs almost as well as Ridley does and his hands are almost as good as Vereen's -- the best of both worlds. He's the perfect compliment to either of those two.

The RB position is one of the least of my worries.

Bolden doesn't run as well as Ridley nor are his hands as good as Vereen's. That's pure conjecture.

The word almost is in plain sight. Clearly, you have no comprehension of what the word almost means.
al·most (ôl m st , ôl-m st ). adv. Slightly short of; not quite; nearly:
As in, close to as good but not quite as good.

Try harder next time.
