What are you panicking about?

The fact is that rookie wide receivers haven't worked out under Belichick. The only exception is 2002 when veterans did their job and Givens and Brance developed beside veterans. Where is our David Patten?

The rookie WR's will come around, getting them these game reps with Brady might not be pretty but in the long term (long term being second half of the season) it will make them better players if they can handle the tough love.

I actually hope DA takes his time. There is nothing like live game reps for Dobson, Thompkins, and Boyce (when he plays). Gronk and Edelman can be the security blankets.

My one worry is the probably upcoming Julian Edelman injury. I really hope he doesn't get hurt, but I can't remember a season where he didn't. Maybe 2011 when he was on D?

yea, but rookie wr's were never depended upon to the tune that they are this year, hence we really have no good comparison to look at to make your claim mean much

all recent rookies were afterthoughts, more of a cherry on the top if they worked out rather than we are **** out of luck if they turn out well

Exactly. We never gave most of the rookies a chance, so they never developed. I don't know if PK Sam or Taylor Price would have been the next Jerry Rice if drafted to a different team, but they were never given a sufficient chance here.

I cringed the few times our WRs gained first downs when they went full pea c o c k and gave that first down hand motion. Start acting like its part of the job description and not such a special celebratory moment.

word. chandler jones dance is horrid. it looks cheesy, immature, and plain ******ed. jon jones doesn't do stupid dances. he is all business.

i'm panicking about our failure to draft super studs. our draft has been just so-so at best. i know draft are all about hit and misses, but it just seem like we have too many misses.

Well, we've managed to lose two games despite scoring more than the other teams, so it's obviously time to panic.

What's yours?

I'm panicking about Chandler Jones sack dance. I hate to root against him getting sacks, but i don't think I can take too many of those (not that there's anything wrong with that) dances.

You?

I'm panicking about the mental health of those upset at being 2-0.

Last year at this point, the Pats were 1-1 after beating a horrible team in the Titans team and losing to horrible Cardinals team with a QB who isn't even good enough to be a very good #2 QB on a team. In fact, the Pats ended up being 1-2 after week 3.

... and they currently have the best record in the NFL!

Look - I get that there's ample cause for concern.

As long as the key offensive parts are on the mend and not gone for the season, I remain confident that at 2-0 the Patriots are in a good position to weather these injuries and win the AFC East

I don't particularly care what our seeding is in the playoffs or if we get a bye - I'd trade all of that for healthy relatively well rested players going into the playoffs.

There's hardly ever been a Belichick coached Patriots team that is playing at optimum levels in September. They key is whether they are playing at optimum levels from November - February.

Oh I don't know perhaps struggling to beat two really lousy football teams with inexperienced rookie QB's might have something to do with it.
The only reason the Patriots are 2 - 0 instead of 0 - 2 is their schedule, not their level of play.....hence the reaction.

How bad are the Jets?? Patriots punted 11 times and the Jets had 7 punt return yds for the GAME. Jets are a very poorly coached team.

Quality of play will improve for the Patriots as they get healthier. Quality of their opponents will also improve.

Going to be a very interesting season.
Particularly, if you want the New England Patriots to lose. Got ya!!

I'm panicking about having to put yet another thread on ignore because too many posters can't seem to understand the difference between panic and honest analysis of a struggling team.

The team did appear to struggle. But one thing I take from this is now we have a few days to breakdown each games film and identify mistakes. Probably made each week. Then they have to whole week to correct them for TB. Remember guys, 1 dropped pass and 1 not completely controlled reception and a good FG hold its 30-10 game. That is without gronk, amendola and vereen. Yes the offense was bad, but alot if things can be corrected and they can make a huge jump. Brady knows his season for 2013 hangs on rookies, and he will have to help them improve. I am looking forward to the offense finally improving and seeing a mediocre D creating stops against good teams. Not scared, its too early IMO. But somehow I will be called a "homer", too optimistic and not enough pessimistic statements.

C'mon. Now that you told me, I'll know you're ignoring my thread and my feelings will be bruised.

Two in the bank is two in the bank.

Lol Chandler Jones' sack-dance was from a recent viral video

I agree. Who is panicking? The D is great. The O sucks. Will it get better with the guys getting more snaps? Perhaps? Will it get better with a healthy Gronk and DA? Probably. Will Gronk, DA, and JE always be able to play at 100%? Perhaps?

I am surprised more people are not more concerned. There are a lot of iffs above.

We all know, ignore=no balls.

I remember seeing that when Dobson converted one late in the fourth. I took the opposite approach; I thought it was encouraging that despite playing like absolute garbage for most of the game his confidence was obviously not fazed, and I think it's an indicator that he may have the mental toughness you need to succeed in the NFL. Now was doing it after struggling so badly pretty ridiculous? Probably. But at least we know he can stand whatever abuse Tom throws his way (provided it's not a football).

On topic of thread, I lurked here all summer reading the collective take on our offensive situation this year. Many felt it was time for a paradigm shift for the organization to go back to it's days of dominant D with a proficient O, versus a spectacular O which was required because the D was letting a journeyman QB hang up 4+ touchdowns on us. The first game gave us exactly that. The second game was brutal to watch, but with one legitimate passing threat what did we expect? I'll start to be concerned when week 5 or 6 rolls around and KT and Dobson are still making the same mistakes. Until then, I'm fully expecting these growing pains to all be a thing we look back on when our O is fully healthy and developed for the second, most important half of the season.

I will admit I think there's a valid criticism to be made about our lack of depth at WR and TE, especially TE. The start of the season seems to be a result of gambles that haven't yet paid off (rookies playing to their potential, going thin with hopes of star players not boarding the injury train) and completely unforeseen circumstances (AH).

This is why I panic that Ian will never...ever ban the passengers on the clown car.

Posters that make ice water enemas inviting have few advantages.

I'm panicked that Dashon is going to be knocking people out going over the middle next week.

jk
But I do wish we could get a guy like him. He could have been our new Rodney.
