Denver Broncos LB Von Miller pulled over for speeding with suspended license

This is in the link/article that you provided:

"ESPN Senior NFL Insider Chris Mortensen reported later Wednesday that the NFL will not increase Miller's suspension."

I'm sure anything is always a possibility with Goodell, so I think you have a valid point on that. I just personally don't see more time added on over a suspended license charge--at least when you look at it objectively anyway.

In the end though, you could be right. We'll have to wait and see how it plays out. It'd be great to see him have to stay home when we play him, as unlikely as that obviously is

It wasn't at the time I was there.

To be honest, I actually assumed that.

We've seen that a lot, particularly with ESPN's articles. They tend to take an original and then make a minor change as more news breaks.

i always thought of him as a nerdy, smart kid who only loves football. way he talks, nerdy glasses, and some of the articles i've read. apparently he is none of that. just a pothead who does stupid things.

And now it is reported that he has an open warrant for failing to pay a ticket last year in California. These type of issues are mind numbing to me for when it comes to athletes. Just pay the damn fine, its up there with athletes driving around without car insurance...

Yeah really...a warrant over 240 bucks? And no car insurance to boot?

I bet he has 100,000 dollar diamond earrings though that he wears during the games.

My guess is that his lawyers get the issue resolved pretty quickly, but it looks like he needs to grow up and get back on the right track--and soon!

even if they get it fixed quickly, this should add at least 2 games to his current suspension after the whole suspended license while driving thing earlier in the week

Von Miller is an idiot. He knows the league wanted to suspend him for far longer than 6 games, but settled with him because they feared a lawsuit could destroy their drug testing program. Yet, he continues to give Goodell latitude under the personal conduct policy to suspend him longer than those six games.

How incredibly stupid is Miller that he is now risking game checks at $143k a game for an arrest warrant for $240 worth of unpaid tickets.

For what it's worth, these new problems for Miller aren't going to cost him any missed time--especially for traffic violations. As stated, traffic violations aren't part of the personal conduct policy, and we see numerous examples of driving under suspension every single year around the NFL.

Here is the latest per NBCsports/pft:

Traffic violations, however, are generally not covered by the personal-conduct policy. While the league, we’re told, will monitor such situations, the NFL usually will take no action and have no comment.

In this specific case, it would be highly unusual for Miller’s traffic situation to exacerbate his ongoing suspension, given that the suspension arises under the substance-abuse policy, not the personal-conduct policy.

So while the repeated tales of Miller being pulled over and/or failing to show up to take care of the ensuing traffic tickets make him look careless, it’s not the kind of thing that will result in the NFL taking action against him."

Yeah, people kinda forget that now, but for that entire 2011 run, Broncos fans and commentators wouldn't shut the **** up about how good of a guy he is. We figured out that that wasn't true around when this happened.

At least we don't have to listen to Sayton Manning complaining about a "liquored-up kicker".
