@FieldYates: Filed to @ESPNBoston: The Patriots worked out veteran DE Andre Carter today, per a source. .

Found on Twitter.

Can he catch passes at Tight end ?

Vet presence, candidate to move inside to DT when needed and I assume he was well liked by the team last time he was here - he will be cheap so why not?

Yes please! Always liked him.

Getting really up there in age though.

How about Mark Anderson too? We're getting the band back together!

One of my favorite recent players. If he's got any tread on those tires..

Part of me would love to see him resigned! Never got to finish his tenure here correctly with that quad injury.

And then the other part of me says that he IS getting up there in age and might not have much left in the tank..

He doesn't need to have much left to contribute as much as Bequette at DE.

I'm cool with this, workout pending. He really tore it up towards the end of his tenure in 2011 before the injury. Really wanted him back last year, but I guess he was asking for too much money?

Anyone know anything about the Armstead guy?

Only that he needs to hurry up and get healthy so I can fully exploit my sig pic

Is he still hot? I mean in shape.

Defensive snaps: DL rotation in focus - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

LB Jamie Collins – 2-of-64
CB Logan Ryan – 2-of-64
S Tavon Wilson – 1-of-64

Bequette got the DNP

Tells you about those players at this stage of their careers (Collins was just subbing in for Spikes while Spikes was in the locker room).

LB Brandon Spikes – 16-of-64

Tells you both about his missed time and the kind of defense the Patriots were playing (nickel almost all game long, per Reiss).

We need all the help in the pass rush we can get. Even at his age, he should be able to provide more than Bequette can at this point and his natural position is as a DE in the 4-3. Hope he works out well.

Perfect krafty acquisition: old, cheap, and broken down...see adrian wilson, john lynch, torry holt, joey galloway, tank williams..need we go on?

Oh and I guess Belichick is answering the question over whether or not no sacks against Buffalo is a cause for concern.

I liked Carter a lot when he was here, but at this stage in his career he's looks just about finished.
