Matt Mulligan? TE? I Used to knock down beers with a guy at the Quiet Man Pub on the REd Line in Southie named Matt Mulligan! He was a pissa!...can't be the same guy!....WHO is Matt Mulligan the TE? )

I see to remember that he had some sort of steam shovel.

or maybe that was his Dad, Mike.

Born in Bangor and a black bear! Hope this kid sticks around. Not too many black bears in this league.

If healthy, he is a good blocking TE.

The Patriots needed a Mulligan after Hernandez.

This is Bill's funny way of getting depth at tight end and asking for a Mulligan for some of the things that have happened this pre-season.

He's... not good at all.

But....but.....he didn't go to Rutgers OR Maryland!

I hear he is a good blocking TE but not good at catching. I see him probably as a 1 week deal. I still think we sign Fells back.

He makes sense for us as we need a blocking TE more than a pass catching TE right now. However once we have Gronk and Sudfeld do we really need a 3rd TE who can catch like Fells? Maybe more value would be in a blocking specialist. Not to say Fells is not a good blocker but he is not dominate.

Just food for thought.

Are we going to really have a thread biatching about a bottom of the roster guy. He is most likely a very short term fix in the running game as a blocker at most.

When you swing and miss like they did with Hernandez, sometimes you have to take a Mulligan.

Very nicely punned. You should have done something about biting the bullet or taking a shot for Hernandez, might have capped it off perfectly.

lol, mulligan.

why do we need a pass blocking only TE after we released Ballard. He seemed to be doing great at blocking...just couldn't move around

I dunno, from what I've read I have to wonder if Fells or even Ballard would be a better choice for us - especially if it is a short term thing since both of them will have significantly more than 1 week's worth of time in our system.

He is here to block.

Not kosher to indict a fellow poster.

Fells and Ballard are both 'blocking' TEs and anyone who paid attention to the Jets a couple years ago (or the Rams last year) could tell you that Mulligan isn't really an NFL-caliber player, to put it kindly.

Yes, Mike he retired to PA.

Just for fun, who will have more career receptions Mike Mulligan or Matt Mulligan?

Can he play CB?
