It's a bit premature for that as Tebow hasn't made it to the final roster yet. One thing to note is that even the "final cut" deadline won't finally answer the question as teams will still make roster moves after that time.

Win total doesn't negate the fact that they won their division and a playoff game. Not sure what your point is.

My point was, they started off 1-4. Tebow was 8-5 as a starter that year counting the playoffs. The team was terrible for the two years prior to Tebow taking over. Hadn't been to the playoffs in years. The reason I even brought that up was because Screwdriver dude said he couldn't turn around the Jags. If he could do it in Denver, it's possible he could do it in JAX.

In 2000 I'd be against the team not keeping a 6th DB instead of a fourth string QB. I have no idea what they think they can develop in Tebow, but there is precedent of trusting BB with developmental QBs who do not impress me much.

And while your point would certainly be valid, remember that Belichick is always going to be focused on the future in terms of building this team.

He isn't going to leave the team in a poor position when he leaves, and for all we know he may not leave for another 7-8 yrs.

I agree with your general point 100%. In this case though the debate is for a 3rd string developmental QB, which is probably a decent enough difference from a 4th string developmental QB. When you consider that aspect it may make things a little more palatable. Also, I'm sure the PS roster will be built nicely to potentially bring up a player who may be needed in case of injury, so you may see the "6th DB" there too.

Personally, I think it says a LOT that Tebow hasn't been cut yet. It's my opinion that if he were going to be cut it probably would've happened by now. We've gone from 88 players (approx) down to 65, so we've cut 23 guys in the past handful of days. If the decision were 1/2 as "obvious" as about 8/10 posters here thought, don't you think it would've happened by now?

I'm assuming by your comment that you probably think he makes it tomorrow then, Icy?

I think he probably does myself, even though I'm not too sure that I agree with it. I just think that Belichick had a plan all along and if he were going to be cut he'd likely have been given his papers by now. Just a hunch though. I very well could be wrong.

There is no black and white for guys on the bubble. Chances are guys like Tebow and others who are situational players can be on the roster one week and off the next.

Depending on their salary they will be cut for week one but brought back later on a week to week situational basis.

If Belichick thinks Tebow can play a role to help in a given week, he will put him on the roster - and perhaps the game day roster at that - no matter how many fans think they know more than he does.

Obviously Tebow is deemed to have more value than those already cut - though I think even some of today's cuts may wind up coming back at some point if they remain available

Brady was a much better prospect back then than tebow is now. He had good vision accuracy could move in the pocket and think on his feet ie read a defense. Tebow has proven to be utterly incapable of doing most of that. He's like a losing lottery ticket. It's been played and found to be a loser. Toss it in the trash.

I just think either he was doing Tebow a favor or it's a 1 year project. No way could Belichick think he could fix Tebow in such a short amount of time. In a way I feel bad for him ... like I said before has anyone ever really took the time to make him an NFL QB? If the answer to that is no then he's part of at least a 1 year project though he could have some use on a few gadget plays.
