and?
Still doesn't change the fact that you refuse to admit he was just plain horrible against a suspect Pats defense.
again I say, you cant have it both ways... either you give credit for tebow beating the steelers and accept that he was horrid against the pats or you have to accept the fact that maybe the injuries, missing players and the coach had something to do with his beating the steelers and then you can say the pats weren't as bad as everyone says.
You change the narrative in the attempt to shine the best light on Tebow as possible.
He beat the #1 Defense!
Patriots were really a lot better than you think!
When in reality it was more like; the #1 defense suffered 2 big losses on the d line, clark couldn't play because it could have killed him and little ****ie l screwed up by not thinking tebow could throw an accurate pass over 15 feet and the Patriots had a very good game plan for tebow and executed it very well.
Let’s give credit where credit is due, Tebow did lead the Broncos to a playoff win in 2011 which is a commendable accomplishment and at the end of the day what really matters is if you win the game.
Now with that formality out of the way let’s take a closer look at his statistical performance and scale it out by NFL standards:
B – Below average
A – Average
H – Higher than average
10/21 47.6% completion – B
316 passing yards – H
2 touchdowns – A
15.5 avg. – H
125.6 rating – H
Now overall her was higher than average in 3 of 5 categories, and below in just 1. By Tebow standards he had a very, very good game against the Steelers, still not what I consider a great game by an NFL quarterback however, but certainly the best of his career.
My biggest issue with Tebow is that the game against the Steelers was the peak of his career at the time and something he should or and could of built upon if he was in fact special enough to perform to that level over a consistent basis (not the blind squirrel parse). Tebow did not build on that game though, he came out against a poor Patriots defense and put up dismal stats (see below), he was traded from Denver in that offseason throwing a few parting blows at Elway on his way out of town, arrived at Jets camp and matched up against a quarterback that was bottom 5 in the NFL which he was unable to beat out, he was given minimal responsibility to run a wildcat offense which he proved incompetent to do and eventually he dropped to 3rd on the depth chart behind a late round draft pick who at best will be a journeyman backup in the NFL. Now Tebow is here like a cat with 9 lives and what has he done with that, he has delivered possibly the worst performance by an NFL QB over 2 games in preseason history.
I do not envy those faithful to Tebow, they’re in a predicament similar to those of who have had a loved one addicted to drugs, they’ve gone to rehab time and time again, but you hold out hope that they can be that child or significant other that you remember 5 or 10 years ago, but eventually you have to concede the fact that no matter what you say or what you do that person is what they are a junkie and unlikely to change, well Tebow faithful is approaching that point where you are going to be forced to make that determination do you want to keep holding out hope and face repeated disappointment or do you just want to accept Tebow is what he is not a good NFL quarterback. That is not to say Tebow is hopeless, a junkie can take it upon themselves to change, but they will never be that person you remember again they will be different but they could be contributing members of society, well Tebow can do something similar in my opinion he can make a decision to make changes on his own and that is a different position than quarterback, he will not be the player you all remember and hold out hope he can be from that Steelers game but at he could be a contributing member of a NFL team. This may not have been the best analogy but hopefully you get my point just the same.
